In fact, I think that before the lockout, it used to be a more balanced schedule, with every team playing every other team in their conference 4 times (4 X 14=56) Then playing most, but not all, of the teams in the other conference twice a year, home and away (2 X 15=30, minus 4 games= 26, 26 + 56=82) |

For the 08 season, they changed up the schedule to allow for 6 div games, 4 conf games, and at least 1 game vs every opp conf team. |
