Now that Richards is off the market what are we doing with the center position. I believe Darcy said something like that there will be an upgrade at the center position. Anyone hear any rumors about us trading for a center or anything of that sort? |

Leino is being used in the center position. |

Leino will be at center but he's more of a winger. I would love to see Paul Stastny here in Buffalo. I know i have this in the wrong section but tell me what you guys think of this proposal To Buffalo: Paul Stastny To Colorado Pominville or Hecht Adam Cgy 2nd round pick in 2012 You could possibly throw in Kotalik in that because of Colorado needs salary and Colorado could throw in a mid level prospect |

I don't want Pommers or Hetcht and dumping their salary and taking on a guy who actually produces would be sweet. |

I simply don't understand why Colorado would trade Stastny. He's still very young, extremely talented and if the Avalanche need to add salary, why would they trade a guy with a $6.6 million cap hit? |

They're rebuilding, and Stastny is young enough where he should be part of the rebuild. Although, I really don't understand why Colorado tore apart their team to begin with. They were doing decent before they just up and traded Stewart, Shattenkirk, and Anderson for utter garbage and Erik Johnson (who is underwhelming as a 1st overall pick.) In this case, I suppose anything is possible. |

The market value is sky-high for #1 centers right now, and the Avs aren't going to trade Stastny for our expendables. And yeah, I think we're going to have a lot of fun with that pic next season |

Leino played center his entire life. He was primarily a winger in Philly, although he played a lot of center too. He's fine in the middle. |

What is the status on Stastny? He's an RFA? I mean are they signing this guy or what? |

if you want statsny you are going to have to blow colorado out of the water, and right now Buffalo needs to shed cap. something like Sekera, Pominville or Boyes, Roy, and a pick. The Avs did trade for a goalie so that's not a major need anymore. the 012 draft is a very decent crop of prospects. they make this years crop look like well it's comparing apples and oranges. Spezza could be a real option, if you have interest there. the sens are rebuilding Spezza possibly needs a fresh start. spezza is 27 or 28. Pavelski if you consider him a #1 center. |

We can't deal Pommers until he is healthy. Last I knew he was sliced with a skate and still recoering from that |

Look what he did last year getting rid of Stewart and Shattenkirk and he topped it off by getting Brian Elliot for Anderson |

Squanto wrote: Leino played center his entire life. He was primarily a winger in Philly, although he played a lot of center too. He's fine in the middle. Yeah. People need to realize he played in Detroit with Datsyuk and Zetterberg in front of him and in Philly with Briere, Carter and Richard in front of him. He was better suited to play wing for both those teams because they already had a bunch of awesome depth at the C position and in all honesty, I'm not too sure what it would take to get him.....but a name I never hear talked about that I would love to see here is Jordan Staal. |

I'm not sure of the particulars but that's what I remember anyway. Also I wouldn't mind losing a draft pick or 2 even if it's a 1st rounder to land Statsny.... |

Not saying that is a bad idea at all.. but for me how weird would that look to see STAAL on a Sabres uniform.. I mean look how much buffalo hates eric and canes... would just be weird. |
