Um, yeah, my friend is a Canucks fan, and he told me that we over payed for Erhoff, and that he shouldn't be making that kind of money. He thinks Erhoff is worth 3m, or lower. He also mentioned that he'll want out of Buffalo after 5 years. I just wanted to hear some thoughts from fellow Sabres fans.

Your friends an idiot. Canucks offered him 4.5per(shorter term) and we got him for a 4mill cap hit. Islanders offered 6mill per and he turned it down. On the market he could have gotten anywhere from 5-7(ridiculous but it coulda happened)

No offense, but who gives a shit what your friend thinks will happen? I'm pretty sure he has no basis to say that Erhoff will want out of town.

I actually just wanted some thoughts on this...and share something in my life that I thought was a little funny, no need to come on here and say that you don't care about it....

lets look at it this way.. we paid tim 4 million to do what he did. Look at what Erhoff did last season and what were going to pay him. I think its a good deal.

I don't think that he's overpaid. But I haven't watched him play game in, game out like a Canucks fan has. He's described as an "offensive defenseman", and sometimes players like that get on the nerves of certain fans, who say they're "no good in their own end" etc. They also sometimes get big contracts, think Sheldon Souray, Brian Campbell or someone like that. Fact is defensemen who score a lot of points tend to get paid more than bruisers. I guess we'll have to see.

From the browsing I did of the Canuck's forum I saw mixed emotions. A lot of people have the attitude over there of "good riddance" when any player leaves their team. Super douches as I like to call them. The truth seems to be more grey. Yes he's super productive on the points side of things but the real story on this guy will be if he can produce when he's not feeding off the Sedins. They are a little bitter up in Canuck land right now because of the lost Cup and murky workings of the front office.

The salary he's getting doesn't really matter. It's the cap hit that makes the difference. Ehrhoff turned down bigger money like EH said, but with Buffalo's offer he can actually be just as well of with sound investments. Either way, Buffalo came out ahead with only a 4 mil cap hit for ten years. So many fans that are critical of these type deals think the player will never play out the contract, but age 39 is not a big deal anymore for a d-man. If Ehrhoff wants to keep playing and stays in shape to do that, age 39 is not that hard. Besides, in 2-3 years 4 mil for a player like him will be average to low.

You said you wanted thoughts. I didn't see you ask for thoughts you felt were nice.

What inside information does your friend have that indicates Erhoff will want out of Buffalo after 5 years? I think an educated guess could be made that Erhoff hasn't looked that far down the road himself, so how the hell can anyone predict what he's going to be thinking in 2016?

My thoughts are that your friend is just spewing bullshit.

It's good that I really don't care what you think.

Especially with the "wanting out of Buffalo in 5 years" comment. That just is the cliche Buffalo bashing fans of other cities like to fall back on when they have nothing smarter to say.

I dont see how what Squanto said is him being "a fucking ass hole" Cuz like Squanto said, he wanted an opinion, and he gave it to him, and I agree with Squanto, that nucks fan is a moron, there is no way that Erhroff is thinking, yeah in 5 years I want out of here just cause I feel like it, No way he even has thought about it. Squanto's point is valid.

You're a fuckin ass hole in general. Half your posts are pissy as fuck. Seems like you've had a stick stuck up your ass or something.

If that is how you think/feel, then post somewhere else. I doubt he's going to filter his honest thoughts or feelings (when asked for such) just because you see him in a certain light.

His point is valid but the way he said it what is the problem. The guy was just starting a conversation and squanto responded as if it was a personal attack on him.

That being said, this is just like when an employee leaves a job for a better opportunity. The employee did a good job while working at the employer but as soon as they leave, they get blamed for everything thats wrong.

If you don't like what I have to say, then fine. You're certainly entitled to that. There are plenty of people that don't like what I say, and plenty of people that I reel the same way about.

However, you can dispense with calling me a 'fucking asshole'. If someone said that to you, I'm sure you'd be all pissy about it and cry to a mod. By the site rules, you should be warned for doing that, especially twice. I won't because I just don't feel like it.

Use the ignore features if you choose. But chime in again with calling me an asshole and I'll ask one of the other mods to intervene.
