I start rooting for no OT games starting with Game 1 of the season. Also love to see division opponents lose. Here's looking at you, Toronto. But I'm also enjoying Boston's hangover thus far.

I want to see WPG get their first win. I'd love it if they did it against the Pens.

I know it's early but by the looks of things, B's look pretty weak to repeat. Most of my Bruins friends would bust my nuts for saying so but man, they just don't look like champs to me.

Without Thomas having a season for the ages, the Bruins wouldn't have won that first one. He's not duplicating it, and Boston is not repeating. They just don't have enough outside Thomas to pull it out. Seriously, is Lucic going to net 30 again?

MTL, OTT, CGY, COL, WPG

I'll hold off on crowning them until they beat a team of real consequence...

To be honest, I though the Jets outplayed them for 80% of the game

bad teams find a way to lose, good teams find a way to win. the leafs are finding ways to win. i think they are making the playoffs.

Kessel and Lupul are tearing it up. Don't think they can maintain the pace, but certainly seem to be clicking. And Colorado seems to be playing well, but other than them, Toronto hasn't played anyone good. They're better than last year, most like, but just how much remains to be seen.

Tough call on the Leafs making the playoffs.

First, you have to figure out who stays from last year's playoffs and who goes.

Right now, the only team that made the playoffs last year that I'd comfortably say won't make them this year is the NYR. Possibly the Habs, too.

I don't see the Devils missing the playoffs again this year, which leaves 1 spot up for grabs between the Leafs, Panthers, Canes, Habs, and Rangers.
