Buffalo Sabres red-hot rookie Luke Adam has seen this movie before.

"After just one American Hockey League game last season, he was asked by reporters if he had it in him to follow in the path of two Sabres prospects, Nathan Gerbe and Tyler Ennis, who had earned top rookie honors the previous two seasons.

"That was after my first professional hockey game," Adam recalled with a laugh in an interview this week. Now, after going on to win top rookie honors in the AHL, the easy-going forward is answering similar questions about his ability to follow up Tyler Myers' rookie exploits in 2010 and take home the Calder Trophy as the NHL's top rookie."

Hope this does not go to their heads. The scary part is that there seems to be no shortage of quality players filling their spots in the AHL. Always a nice treat when our future is just as bright as the present. When this core sees its way out we seem to have another in the wings ready to take the reigns.

Good article. Kassian looks like he'll be leading scorer for the Amerks this season. He's playing very well. Haven't seen him actually play but seen some highlights and shit on the internet he looks good.

This is off topic but I'm just wondering where's Ales Kotalik? Is he injured or something?

Kotalik is playing over in Europe. After he was waived the Sabres assigned him to play in the Czech league.

I would say make him an assistant coach seeing as how we already have two former players. But Jochen would probably be better suited for that role, in the future of course.

I've always looked at Kotalik as very selfish. He'd make a terrible assistant coach.

I was agreeing with you but making a joke at the same time. We will just have to wait for goose to hang them up before we can fill out the former players working as assistants.
