Lindy Ruff doesn't. He doesn't remember Mike Weber either. After starting Miller in TB when it was a planned Enroth start, Ruff turns around and starts Miller again to start the season on a 7-1 start ratio. Gragnani still hasn't done anything on the PP... |

Was Saturday definitely a scheduled Enroth start? I was fine with Miller playing all the games last week. It's when he plays both back-to-back games (like Friday and Saturday) that I get extremely angry at Lindy for not managing the goalies correctly. |

HOLY SHIT, MILLER STARTED 4 GAMES IN A ROW, THE WORLD IS ENDING!!!!!111!!11!!1!!!!!!!!!!11!!!! A 7-1 ratio. If Enroth starts every 5th game I'd be very surprised still. It will be more like every 8th game Enroth may play. |

Still pretty stupid how Lindy said that Enroth has earned himself another start last week and still we haven't seen him between the pipes since he said that. It's kinda demoralizing to a young player/goalie to have a coach say this and that about you to the press but goes back on what he said right away. On another note Grags should be sent back to the AHL. YEs he had an awesome playoffs for us last season but has shown absolutely nothing this season to keep him up here. Weber should be put in the guys a good defensive defensemen. Other than Vanek this team really doesn't have a real go to scorer and IMO Lindy and Darcy should work together to get someone who could help Vanek out. And a true top line center wouldn't be a bad idea. I honestly think Leino looks lost out there. Too bad we didn't have a combo of Briere/Giroux. |

I guess Miller didn't earn an extra start for, you know, pitching a shutout or anything. |

Time to give Enroth a start. If he does well, give him another. |

burner087 wrote: Time to give Enroth a start. If he does well, give him another. Why? Miller is clearly the number one guy, and your number one guy plays in 65 games at least. Miller can handle 5+ starts in a row. Yes Enroth is a good backup for us, but this is Miller's team and he deserves to still start. |

As for Gragnani, after poking around it seems that he needs to play 60 games this year in order for the Sabres to retain his rights as a RFA. If he plays less, he becomes a group 6 FA and another team can sign him in 2012. Gragnani is probably slotted to replace Leopold in two years, so keeping him is a semi-priority. If so, maybe Weber should be in for Sekera a few times. Either way, it's not the best scenario to be making player decisions based on contract status. |

Yep. Perfectly reasonable to assume what Lindy plans to do with his goalies for the next 5 1/2 months. And I know where you got that group 6 stuff. That's hilarious. They are NOT playing Grags for that reason alone. |

Get off Lindy's cock for a second, and realize that it IS reasonable to assume what he plans to do with his goalies for the next 5 1/2 months when he's showing that he's going to do exactly what he has for the last 5/12 YEARS... I wish emotion would show over the internet, because I'm half kidding saying this, trying to give you shit but also have an animated conversation |

I'm not on Lindy's jock. Enroth was going to get a start on the roadie. Miller put up a donut. If he had stuck to his plan and put Enroth in, most of you that are moaning now would be bitching about how Ruff should have ridden the hot goalie. The true test of how Lindy will manage the goalies will come December through February. That's when it will matter most. |

They are NOT playing Grags for that reason alone. You're a ray of sunshine as usual. Not assuming anything, I didn't say anything about the rest of the year. The plan sounded like getting Enroth 20+ starts, so why not start the year with that plan? Miller got his extra start and lost 3-0. Not his fault, but it didn't warrant Enroth sitting for another game either. People here should know that I think Miller should be the centerpiece of the team, but I also know having a quality back-up is a benefit they should finally be taking advantage of. I also didn't say Gragnani's contract status was the ONLY reason he's being played, but it may be a factor. You can read though, I shouldn't have to explain, but I know I'm one of your favorite targets now so snipe away if it brightens your day. |

I wasn't taking a snipe. I just happened to recently read that group 6 thread on HFB, so it was fresh in my mind. I think it's an absurdity to assume that group 6 FA status is the only reason MAG is playing right now. I can't imagine that Ruff cares about that one bit. My Ruff comments were not targeting you specifically. You're not the only one who made a similar comment. I was responding to all of you. I don't think it was unreasonable to give Miller an extra start based on the donut, and I'm not going to crucify Ruff for goaltender management unless we hit late December and Miller is on pace for 74 games again. |
