It isn't open season on goalies - only on goalies who leave their crease. My bet is that this won't extend to the trapezoid, because they're still protected there (although, honestly, they're protected by the rulebook in front of the net, too).

This isn't fucking duck hunt. Apparently, though, if you can get the goalie into a race to the puck, he's fair game.

i said it in the other thread as more of a joke, cause that's what lindy had said. i don't expect it to happen, and surely dont expect this team to do shit.

But we don't need a simliar scenario to go along with what the NHL apparently thinks is ok. All a goalie has to do is come out to challenge a point shot and be outside the paint. Imagine Buffalo on the PP, Thomas goes a foot or so out to cut down the angle, and Vanek or Boyes just skates full steam across and crushes him (non-head shot). Any team in the league can do this, take the 2 mins, but literally take out the goalie and possibly put the other team on melt-down. No suspension will come of it. Although I agree technically with your post NYI, that sounds like the relative equivalent of "open season".

As I said in the GDT, the call on Rivet was horseshit. The Bruins player was holding onto Rivet's stick like it was the last fucking raft on the Titanic.

The only open season the pussies on this team know, is the day the country club golf coarse opens..

Miller should just do this the next time he's in a race for the puck.
