Hey guys. Some chatter amongst my friends have started about Lindy. This thread isn't to start a debate over that but rather a what if session. If they do part ways with Lindy who do you think would be a good fit for our team? Who is available that you would like to see behind the bench? I'm not very wise as to who is out there or who may be enticed to leave their clubs so I'm really hoping to learn a bit here too. |

What in the world would firing Lindy accomplish? Yep, that's right. Nothing. |

Holy hell, did some of you even bother reading my first post about this not being a thread to argue if he will be replaced but rather one to discuss the hypothetical idea of who would replace him if it did happen? I'm not saying he is, I'm just wondering with the talk being out there of it, who would make a reasonable replacement. |

And let me just repeat I love Randy Cunnyworth as a coach. In fact, I think he has a bigger hand in this team than most people give him credit for. The core of this team was molded by him: Vanek, Miller, Roy, Pominville, Gaustad...besides Vanek, none of those guys were top 10 picks, most of them not even 1st round. I think RC did a fantastic job with those guys and got them ready to contribute at the NHL level from day 1. |

The fact of the matter is that the idea is in our heads, and it really is just a dumb idea. We're talking about the coach who, at 30th in the NHL last year, declared that we would make the playoffs. Lo and behold, we did. Now, the Sabres are 2nd in the East, and there's "chatter amongst your friends?" Hypothetically, I don't want to think of anyone else as the coach Edit: personal attacks unwarranted. Post cleaned up

Post cleaned up Dude, is everything a fight with you? If you don't want to talk about it then don't post. If you think it's a dumb idea, good for you, don't post. If you want to talk about why it's a dumb idea, good for you, go post in the Lindy thread. Now if you want to talk about what coaches out there could be a solid replacement if things went south, good for you, post here. Coming here posting that Lindy ain't going anywhere is like going into a thread about Star Wars and telling them all it's just a story and they should stop talking about it. In other words.......Trolling. On top of that, making it a personal attack for no reason what so ever is pretty classy. Edit: cleaned up

It's like I'm not even allowed to do that without being jumped on. I'm not picking a fight, I'm just making my opinion known. That's what a web forum like this is for. It wasn't even a "personal attack", just an off-color remark. I'm glad you can read the edits, though! |

It's this whole: "blow me" "GTFO" "fuck off" shit... that shouldn't be happening. Posters can have an opinion without telling the thread posters to "blow me" Posters can ignore someone saying "blow me" instead of saying "GTFO" and "eat a bag of dicks" Posters can probably not say "fuck off" in reply to someone. I know these aren't HUGE deals, but they're just not necessary and they create more tension that lead the thread (sometimes only temporarily) away from the topic at hand. I read more thread of pissed of posters than I do about genuine discussion about the topic at hand and I'm trying to get it back to the latter. Please get back to the discussion at hand. In case it's not evident, it's about hypothetical coaching options. |

Why not give Cunny an exec position. Have him take on a apprentice to follow in his footsteps and show him the ropes. Cunny won't be around forever. James Patrick and Teppo would be a good 1,2 tandem. |
