Ok, now the players are being fined for "normal" everyday penalties. I thought it was pretty obvious that Kaleta was trying to hit him with his stick on that play. Maybe not in the face, but it definitely wasn't an accident. |

I thought it was pretty obvious Lucic intended to steam roll Ryan Miller, but nothing came of that. This is ridiculous. Kaleta better open up a separate bank account to put money into for fines. |

I didn't see any intent from Lucic, either. By intent, I mean, he didn't once INTEND to try to avoid the contact. His intent was shown when he did nothing to avoid Miller. He didn't try to stop, he didn't try to skate around him, nothing. Matter of fact he "finished" the hit by following through with his arm. That, to me, shows intent... God I wish I was a criminal and Shanahan was my judge. I could get away with murder by just saying "sorry your honor, I never intended on killing him." Sometimes action speaks louder than words. Anyway, I just thought it was amazing that now he's fining players for stuff like this but lets other major infractions just go away |

i find it hard that the NHLPA and whatever organization the refs are part of arent bitching about Shanahan with the fines to the Kaleta and particularly the guy on the Sharks (Clowe?). The NHLPA should be pissed because their members are being fined without reason (a high stick that didnt draw blood and a slash that wasnt called on the ice) and the officials should be pissed because the fine on Clowe is essentially undermining their authority as to what should be called on the ice. never mind the precedent that this set when it comes to "everyday" penalties in games. |
