Little snippit
"It's embarrassing," Miller told reporters afterward, appearing to get a lump in his throat. "I got family, friends ... Everybody came to watch Drew and I play and, you know, at least they got to watch Drew perform."

I watched that full interview on sabres.com and had mixed feelings on it. For one thing, he is clearly extremely frustrated, as evidenced by his inability to form coherent sentences. (when asked about a possible trade.) However, looking at his face it just seems to me that he doesn't care much anymore. It's the same old tired excuses we hear from every member of the team, gotta play harder, gotta play better, blah blah blah. Show some more emotion rather than just blathering out these tired, old lines.

I personally believe that Enroth is ready to start full-time, and don't have any problem what-so-ever with Miller being traded. He needs a change of scenery to save his career. That's all just my own opinion, of course.

My guess is that we'll go 1-5-1 on this roadtrip. Season is over.

Ruff's pump up talks are falling on deaf ears now. Ruff needs to get shitcanned immediately. Notice how they say no one in the lockerroom is going to leave. I wonder if it is almost expected at this point.

I have not seen a team fall apart so quick in a long ass time.

Then again I don't watch much of the Bills anymore(kidding dont yell at me)

The inconsistent play over the past four or five years was an indication that things weren't all well here. We often tended to ignore this, because the team would still play enough decent games to at least look competitive on the surface.

This allowed for the hockey department to escape any real scrutiny for the last five seasons, because we felt the mediocrity and uneven efforts would eventually become better; not get worse.

This season that trend has really started to spiral downwards and expose the problems irrefutably.

Even hockey people on shows like NHL Network, and HNIC are pointing out the poor execution, positioning, desire, and play of the team. None of them are blaming this on injuries, either.

Anyone who really believes this isn't a pattern, and it's really just attributable to injuries; we're going to just have to agree to disagree on.

I wish there was a "Like" button available on this board, because if there was, I'd press it 3 times. Well said.

If they played like they cared they'd play very well.

They've proven that when they play, they play very well.

Get rid of all these players and get some with a heart and a passion for the game. Or start to bag skate these pussies.

I don't get how they simply just don't care. Some nights they do, most nights they don't.

This isn't Juniors where talent alone can simply get you by, you need that heart and determination.

Does anyone think Miller still isn't right from the concussion? Not try to make excuses for him... And no he wasn't playing great before being concussed... But Im wondering if he still aint right.....

Two concussions in the last ten months, and yes, I do. Still doesn't explain the rest of the team's piss poor play. I'm finally coming around to the changes need to be made point of view. But I think it's gotta start by firing Ruff. Hurts me to say that, but right now that seems to be the one move that could have the biggest effect. He's getting way less out of these players than they are capable of, and you just can't replace your whole roster (or anywhere near it) overnight.

Lindy needs a pink slip. It just makes the most sense right now.

Miller is seriously messed up right now. I won't even begin to guess why he is so down right now. Not sure how he pulls himself out of this.

These are some seriously dark times for this organization and it is only magnified due to the owner not opening up his pockets for GM and coach alike to build a team how they want to. This is what they bought and it backfired. There is absolutely no leadership qualities being displayed from this supposed core group of players.

Pominville said they had player meetings and exchanged words as to how to make this better. Well obviously he is not being stern enough. This team has the talent to be a winner and should be a winner. If the talent is not winning and the players cant get up for games then the pressure then falls on the coach to intervene. Ruff knew what he was doing when he selected Pominville as his Captain. And unlike the cruiseship Captain Ruff has no choice but to go down this ship. I think he ends up taking it like a man.

But what exactly does the firing of Ruff accomplish? That leaves you with the same exact group of players that you were just calling (basically) heartless pussies (I really hate that word).

Say New Coach walks in the door. What is his first move? Tell me.

We need to keep Miller on suicide watch. That was an incredibly depressing interview.

What happens when any business starts to fall apart? Upper management takes a hit and someone else is put in. Something as simple as a coaches demeanor or how a practice is run could make all the difference in the world.

Really? If these players are as heartless, gutless etc. as this Board seems to believe, a new coach isn't going to do SQUAT for this team. He'll need to bench players, force trades, call up players, do something like that to shake the PLAYERS up. A change of coaches is not going to miraculously give Player B the guts he's been lacking. It isn't going to gel the locker room, or convince the players to act like the professionals they are paid to be. There are players in there who have lost all heart. Quite a number of them, it appears, considering that the whole team seems to suck. A few bad apples will spoil a barrel and until they are removed it isn't going to matter WHAT barrel we dump this batch in to. Find the bad apples & get rid of them NOW.

(And yeah, I still think something has Lindy's hands tied. Whether he's not supported by Darcy or too damn nice/loyal, or if Roy really does have imcriminating photos. This Lindy is not the guy we know he is.)

I have been thinking and saying this since. It would do the sabres management right just to put him on IR for a month or so
