I know Goose 'settled things' (bullshit) when he went toe to toe with Lucic, but lets get real, that didnt settle shit. At least it shouldn't have.

Personally, i'm going to hate Boston for about the next 4 years, the same way I still want Gomez to break a leg. How do you guys think the team feels about this? What kind of continued response will there be?

It's boston, they're big and mean and talented, and we probably can't do much to really GET to them physically, but I want to see something. I want to see us fuck with Thomas, to find a way to HURT lucic even if it is not wholly legal. Fuck these guys, I want them to pay every time they play us.

I still hate Boston for the hack a vanek in the play offs. The Lucic hit on miller just fules my hatred for them. But I still hate Ottawa from years ago and because of Neal. So I'm not sure how Long the team will hold a grudge. But my sports grudges run deep. Lol

I'd rather not do anything "illegal" to any Boston players. I'd rather check the snot out of them, bounce them off the boards so hard their teeth hurt. And of course, for every hit they put on us return the favor on the same kind of player. Touch our goalie, we plow yours. Flatten Roy, we flatten your vulnerable playmaker.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction...

Hit back, and win. That's what I want.

I want someone to fight Lucic, but just unload punches. Make sure Lucic gets hit, even if you don't win. Kassian and Cody would be the ones to do it

They've already put an 'illegal' hit on us...we did not respond in kind. We should have, we still should.

Yes, they did. We missed our chance to respond. If we do something "illegal" now then we are just as dirty as they are. I'd prefer to destroy them cleanly & prove that we are better than they are.

We're not. This team isn't willing to put their nose to the grindstone, so to speak.

As much as I hate the B's and would love to see someone destroy Marchand/Lucic & company, this point is spot on. They missed the boat to have it taken care of in the same game back in Nov. It's time to focus on winning hockey games and tryng to crawl back within reach of the 8th spot with lots of hard work.

Having said that, should they try to pull the same shit from that first game this Wednesday night, I want to see limbs, hair, teeth and lots of blood on the ice with Marchand's head on a stick!

Not sure I follow your logic here. How come an illegal hit would have been justified in the same game, but not in a later game? Nothing has changed but time. I'm not seeing how its morally different.

Tall order. Boston has two of the best players in the league at their positions in Chara and Lucic. They are also two of the most fearsome fighters. Unless Kassian is an even better fighter than we think; he can't get the better of either.

Thornton is a very tough customer as well; and he can play a regular shift.

It will take team toughness to stand up to Boston. Players have to be, man for man, tougher than Boston's. Forget taking out Lucic or Chara; that's not happening. 20 guys, who are on average, more psyched and motivated to win than are Boston's 20 - because that's what it's going to take.

Chara can't really fight, but he's so damn tall and strong he just flails his opponent around.

You are spot on again. He can't fight. He just hold his opponent off; and punches them out.

Heat of the moment. You can justify almost anything if your teammate is flat on the ice. But it's a new game and we don't need to start off being jerks. Trade evil for evil, just don't start it.

There's a difference between being a good fighter and being 250 pounds and 6'9.

Not really when the result is the same. Just like maybe it takes more skill for Tim Duncan to hit a fade away jumper than for Shaq to dunk it, but they both score 2 points. You don't get points for style.

By that token, I say you only really get revenge on the scoreboard, which is what I said at the time too. I couldn't really care less if Lucic gets his ass kicked if Boston wins another game 6-2, that proves nothing.

Your logic is correct, but on an emotional basis, if it's the same game it's "revenge", if it's a later game it's "petty and cheap bs".

I totally get what your going at here, but for the sake of arguing, what about Goose fighting Lucic the next time the teams met? Was that 'revenge' or 'petty and cheap'? I suppose it would be a better parallel if we'd taken a 'cheap shot' the next game instead of a choreographed fight, but still, there is precedent for remembering a wrong and righting it at some point in the future.

Anybody can drop the gloves with ML Wednesday and I wouldn't consider that cheap in any way. Problem is, he probably wins that fight. If you run Thomas, that's certainly a dirty move.
