Don't get me wrong, I thouroughly enjoyed last night's game. But now they look to be getting some confidence, which will probably translate into good hockey and rising back up in the standings. But they need to go about 19-7-3 in order to hit the 93 pt mark and a probable 8th seed. 20-6-3 to almost ensure a spot. I highly doubt that happens (again). Even if it does , they aren't going to go far in the playoffs, Regier/Ruff/Pegula will be satisfied that their own work has been good if not for injuries ruining everything, no major changes, no top draft pick for a legit scoring center, repeat step 1. Oh the agony of perpetual mediocrity...when will it ever end?!?! |

One step at a time. Let's see how they keep playing and see if the trade deadline shows anything... |

I don't see them sitting idle by the deadline. I think if they can put together a good run and maybe add a few pieces at the deadline and squeak in, you never know what can happen. If they make it and get bounced in the first round, as Ted Black has said, they look at that as being a failure. What do you do if something fails? Evaluate it and add new things to see if it works. I'm not expecting the Cup this season, but I think we can all agree that it's nice to see them playing for each other as opposed to how things were going since November! It's hard to say if they continued to tank that they would land anything significant at the draft. I mean, sure… You could end up getting your own Stamkos, Lucic or Malkin; or you might end up with the best Alexandre Daigle, Pat Falloon or Mark Mancari of the litter. Sometimes they just don't pan out. I know that is the chance you take and it's up to your scouting staff to do the leg work, but it is still a flip of the coin. Considering where we’ve been picking the last few years, I’m happy with the outcome of our picks. And I’m sure fans in Rochester are enjoying it as well |

We'll see...I mean, look at Ottawa who is starting to unravel badly. We just gotta win games and take advantage, I'll take the playoffs over a high draft pick any day. |

The question is will there be any true 2nd line centers available at the deadline and what will it take to get one... I say 2nd. Because I highly doubt there is a 1 center out there that won't cost someone I like a lot... |

You can't use Mark Mancari in your comparison AudSabres. Since he was drafted in the 7th round so no expectations were made for the guy. |

I'm always intrigued when someone brings it up, says something in it, and I can see the links between english and latin, and say to myself "man that's cool, i'm going to get a book on latin and study it a bit" but then I dont. |

They've played near lights-out the past 5 games. Today wasn't abysmal by any stretch. |

You're not kidding NYI. I personally think the last 5 games was a fluke. It was fun and exciting but it didn't last and won't continue. |

The next seven games are crucial...well they should be but only if Regier is going to make major moves. These next seven games before the trade deadline include NJ, PHI, PIT, BOS, and NYR. If they lose 4-5 of those games it will cement Buffalo as a non-playoff team and hopefully cause Regier to sell off players. With the rest of the roster knowing what's up, my guess is that they'll be deflated and play crappy again the rest of the season. Then maybe they can drop down to 26th or 27th overall and get a shot at Grigorenko/Yakupov/Galchenyuk. Dreams...we all have one I guess...lol. |
