14 of their last 21 games on the road, including a west coast swing, with 23 games to play. There is no way the Sabres will make the playoffs. |

Who are the optimists, 7-8 or 13-15? Worst case is 9-10, so I went with 11-12. |

Even if we totally discount all the other teams between #9 and #15 besides Buffalo (Carolina, Montreal, Islanders, Tampa, Washington), then Buffalo would still have to gain 8 points more than both Winnipeg and Toronto in 23 games (yes, I see Buffalo has two games-in-hand over the Peggys). I truly hate to say it but Toronto has been a far better team than Buffalo this year and I just don't see that happening. That would require the Sabres to go like 18-3-2 if even Toronto played just .500 hockey to go about 10-10-3. |

13-15, I would rather them tank (not purposely) and get a chance at a top pick than be in the middle and get a prospect that needs time in Rochester |

We've got absolute no chance of beating Rangers or Bruins (I know we beat them 6-0; that won't happen again for awhile.) It'd be a waste to just make it then be out in 4-5 games. and lose out on a star caliber player at one of the top picks. |

Yeah we picked a hell of a year to suck. This years draft is incredibly weak. There are maybe 4 players NHL talented and ready right now. 2 of which are defensiveman, which we have a log jam of right now. (Trouba and Murray) One forward is a LW, (Yakupov) and the other is a Center which we could use (Grigorenko), but given their Russian backgrounds, Ruff would slaughter them. All in all, it's just a bad draft class to be drafting early. |

Happy to do so  I say we give Ruff the Dick Jauron treatment, especially after his comments this morning. He and his son Roy can go right to hell, or Pheonix, either way, I guess it's the same place in the hockey world.
