I don't believe so; however, you have to apply Ruff/Roy logic to this situation, which means there are quantum factors that you may never understand.

I gave up after he scored his fifth goal, that was enough for me. At least he's getting paid less than a million a goal now, it's all gravy!

This team is a whole new version of fucked up I don't understand it. But I do understand winning. And we did that against Ottawa.

We didn't sign the guy to 4 million, so who cares. He'll be gone next year because he sure as hell won't make 4 million again if he wants to stay in the NHL.

What the hell does that mean? Didn't sign him? Still have to pay him that much and count it against the cap, so who really fucking cares that Darcy didn't "sign him"?

Who cares now, we can't do anything about it, so stop bitching about something that has nothing to do with anything now.

OMG he played bad, so did the rest of the team.

And if you could read I said he'd be gone next year and out of our hair. When we traded for him he had 14 points in 21 games for us, pretty decent if you might say for someone we gave up next to nothing for.

Did you know he was going to royally suck this year and only have 17 points in 54 games, no you didn't.

Whatever dude, you're the one who seems to take it personally when people say he's palyed like crap and that the move wasn't good. That's just a fact. If you don't care, then why do you need to defend the move so much? Obviously you do care, but don't bitch about me bitching about his play

It still matters and we should care that hes getting paid 4mil to suck dick on the ice. By trading for him Darcy agreed that Boyes was worth the $4million cap hit and Boyes (in getting paid that much) is expected to preform to a certain standard. The fact that he isnt gives us the only reason we need to bitch his play...or would you rather not have us complain about any player because "we cant do anything about it" and accept that most of our team is being paid to suck?

Oh, Boyes' production is still relevant because this team is trying to get into the playoffs and it would be a hell of a lot easier if we had more scoring and until the season is over he's still our underachieving player

It doesnt matter anymore, by next season he will be playing for a different team. The guy was a gamble that Darcy thought could work, he was wrong now Boyes is going to go to a different club. Makes more room for signing new guys or bringing up some guys from Rochester.

Where did I take it personally? I'm sick of hearing the bitching about players who we all know are not going to be here next year.

Simply put, we can't do anything about it. Players underachieve sometimes, he was sure worth it when we traded for him.

Sounds like some have written this season off which is completely understandable. Even if this team can finish 8th, they would flame out in the first round. With that being said, they still have a shot and it would be just a little easier if Boyes, among others, start to produce to the level they're getting paid for.

Just think, if Boyes, Leino, and Ehrhoff (Ehrhoff not as much) start producing like they should... We could have a run at the cup.

(they probably won't)

Ehrhoff has been producing about what he has for his entire career.

He has 256 points in 558 games. Which is a .459 PPG average, he currently has 30 points in 58 games this year which is a .517 PPG.

I really don't see any of the hate on Ehrhoff at all, he's producing over his career average, he's not going to get 50 points like he did last year, he doesn't have the goal totals this year for it. He's on pace for 36 points in 71 games. Still over his career average. His assist numbers are about where they have been for the past few years, his goal scoring is down, just like our entire team.

I agree with Leino and Boyes about them not producing like they are being paid though, but there is nothing we can do about it now. Trade deadline is over and everyone knew Boyes wouldn't be able to be traded at his salary this year. After those 21 games it looked like Boyes was going to be able to get 60 points again this year. Stafford is just as guilty about not producing too.

Leino has been getting better as of late. Sure he started off the year fairly rough but he has settled in and played well at not one, but two positions. Having a fairly capable winger and a competent center. We also have that with Tyler Ennis.

The issue with Leino is that he needs to find a good chemistry with two linemates and then he needs to stay with them. Thats what happened with him in philly. He would bounce around until he started playing with Briere and Hartnell I believe and then became a point producing machine. He just needs to find chemistry. That being said, he needs to hurry the hell up.

While I watch Boyes play, he appears to play a smart game, very few bonehead mistakes if any. He works the boards fairly well, but the he either doesn't get into a scoring area or when he does the chances aren't there or he doesn't finish. He's playing 2nd fiddle to Stafford and been injured. Stafford has been healthy all season and stayed on the 2nd line with Roy, Ennis, or Hodgson. Boyes has been between 3rd and 4th line, C and RW, and played with Leino (who of course is also struggling) or Ellis or Gaustad. Given the team's struggles overall and where Boyes has played, I'd give him a decent amount of slack. Of course he doesn't seem to be a 4 mil player anymore, for sure, but he wouldn't be useless on a decent team with decent play making linemates.
