For me, it was Sulzer and Foligno. The Canucks pegged Sulzer as "meh", and I was never disappointed in his play. I think Foligno's play speaks for itself.

Foligno and Ennis. Those two are fucking unstoppable.

Foligno, Ennis and to a certain degree Sulzer. Ehrhoff and Stafford were good in the second half of the season.

By far the brightest spot was the devolpment of Ennis as a center. He looked like a No.1 center.

Down the stretch, Foligno and Ennis to be certain. A full season out of them at any where's near their stretch run level of play will be a huge plus. Sulzer? Hard to praise him after his defensive play against Toronto; however - he did have some good moments as well.

I have always bashed Sekera in the past. Yes he still makes some untimely gaffs; but I thought overall, he was fairly steady with his play this year.

Other than that, I can only see less than positive things to say about the rest of the team. Some good stretches from guys like Erhoff, Myers, Miller, Vanek, and Pominville perhaps.

Plenty of disappointments though.

Just for shits and giggles; can someone please make me laugh on a sad day by arguing that Boyes has been a good player for this team? :?

Real character guy in the locker room. Improved on faceoffs and was able to squeak in some goals when they mattered most.

There, I tried.

Sulzer was one of those rare finds I mentioned in the GDT. Can't believe the minutes he jumped into and played (for the most part) very solidly. Mind you, he had no other choice in the matter, but still. For a guy who was a 7th man in Van, his play was solid.

Foligno, he best be getting the label T-Pegs tossed at Lindy and Darcy. He ain't going nowhere! I think what we are looking at is the one guy we've been missing for so long. Marcus has the makings of that power-forward we've longed for!

It was late, but once they moved Ennis to center, man did he take off. I've been saying it for a bit now, but I think we're looking at Briere 2.0 with him. He's got moves, speed and a great vision on the ice.

I'd have to say the last guy on my list, our Captain. Pommer has been a pretty consistent guy in seasons past, but I think this season he really stepped it up. Not so much down the stretch, he was more so overshadowed by some of our kids but this season in general, IMO, has been his best in a while.

 :D

I thought his shoot out prowess would have been mentioned; but once the book was out on him, I think he missed the last three or four he took.

After he embarrased Price, Boyes only tried his go-to move once and sorta flubbed it against Lundqvist. The rest he tried to surprise the goalie with a straight shot.

I think our young guys will be the bright spot.

Ennis, Myers, and Coho are all 22 and Foligno is 20. They can only get better.

Bright spots were Ennis at center, Foligno, and Sulzer, but none of them played long enough to depend on that level of play for all of next season. I do feel pretty good about Ennis and Foligno though.

Jason Pominville's play. The guy catches a lot of flack, but it seems like Pominville thrives and even excels in a leadership role. I thought he really stepped up his game this year (29 goals, 43 assists, for 72 points. Compared to last year's [22,30,52] spread), and just played his heart out.

If this kind of improvement is what we can expect from Pominville moving forward, then we're very fortunate to have him locked up long term.

Agreed, his name was the first to pop in my mind when I read this thread.
