Kudos to him on that play to Goose last night. That's just pure drive. Relentless.

He was not going to lose that puck.

Another awesome of example of why this team is for real.

Ellis should have a bust of himself set up in the locker room with the Tag Line Hard Work chiselled at its base. Every player on the team should stop and focus on it before stepping on the ice before every game.
And of course they should also rub its head for good luck :)

I love Matt Ellis, I think I'll buy his jersey :)

Hes one of the hardest working players on the ice, and the reason he has to be is because that is the only way he will play in the NHL.

He's always been told he was not good enough to play in the NHL, and he just tries to prove them wrong every game.

Pominville was like that to start his career too. Dude needs a healthy scratching to bring him back to reality.

Um... that great play to break up the 2-1... the goal on the power play... the assist on MacArthur's goal...

One game does not a player make. I was impressed with him last night, but we need to start seeing that every night, most importantly, the contribution on the scoreboard.

The main difference between Pominville and Ellis is, Pominville will always get over 60 points a year easily without trying.

Ellis would need to work so hard for that.

But hearing about Pominville last night it seems he might get back into hard work, or hopefully will.

I'm so glad he got resigned. It's awesome to see his drive and hunger every shift he's on the ice.

I fucking loved Ellis the moment he played his first game as a Sabres. Such pure, unadulterated TOLD YA SO to everyone who said he's a waste.

The main difference between Pominville and Ellis used to be the amount in their contracts, now its how many sticks each of them bring to a game...... :o

Ellis has already been praised by Ruff for his work ethic and attitude. He's been bringing that every game. His line, with Gaustad and Kaleta, have not been scored on yet either. He's not being relied upon to score either, he and his line is supposed to be controlling the puck, bring some solid forechecking and grit, and keep the other line from scoring. Check, check, and check.

Ladies you've been warned. Matt Ellis will not be denied. If you're not offended by that joke you spend too much time on the internet.

1980, CV was talking about how good Pommer looked last night, and not Ellis. Ellis looks good every night. All about the little things.

Now if we can just get Pommers to stop shattering his sticks. That would go a long way in his scoring stats :)

His skate saved his stick company on that contract. I'm pretty sure Ruff/Darcy/TG would have made him change up sticks if they got scored on short handed because of that.
