http://sabres.nhl.com/club/news.htm?id= ... L|BUF|home The Sabres will have 7 games nationally broadcast on NBC/NBC sports and the remaining 41 games on MSG will all be broadcast in HD. The home opener will be broadcast on NBC(!) Since I'm not in the local broadcast area, wasn't there an issue in previous seasons getting MSG in HD? I know center ice has never had an HD feed from MSG. |

Used to be only the home games plus the ones produced by MSG for the home feed (Rangers, Islanders, and Devils) were in HD. However last season was in HD for every game, possibly the year before (my memory is failing me). |

So happy that the yearly free preview is on for the rest of January so I can see some games without having to look for a feed.... |

Yeah, I've never understood why Center Ice (at least in my region) only has 1 channel for HD games, the rest are SD, and MSG is never broadcast in HD. Tough to watch games in SD after seeing them in HD. |

It isn't Center Ice that chooses that stuff. Each cable provider chooses what they will air. I had Dish and they had like you are describing, on HD feed and all SD feeds for the rest. DirecTV though has both home and away feeds in HD and SD. You get literally a million times more for your money and it costs exactly the same as the rinky dink shit Dish shows. |

So the local cable company (in my case Verizon Fios) must save significant money by providing SD instead of HD feeds? I wonder who I can complain to, especially if the cost of Center Ice is the same amongst all providers, including those that give you more HD feeds? |

I tried man. I complained like a crazy person all the way through the ranks and nothing. I just switched to DirecTV after giving up with those idiots. They tried to tell me that the game probably wasn't recorded in HD; that the NHL didn't give them the HD feed; that the "Rangers game is in HD sir" shit and on and on. I researched it and found out that the company chooses what to air and what not to so all the song and dance was just covering up the fact that it didn't make financial sense for them to include all the stuff DirecTV does. DTV has all the same shitty problems with customer service and whatever but they have fanfuckingtastic hockey coverage on Center Ice. Each game has four chanels dedicated to it, SD and HD for both home and away announcing crews. Can't beat that. |

I switched to DTV about 4 months ago, this year 4 freaking channels dedicated to every game, unbelieveable. Insanely nice picture, home feed, nirvana achieved. |

GAH!! this is what I get for celebrating hockey viewing nirvana, the fuckin game is blocked out for 'some parts of buffalo and raleigh' tonight. And there are no local channels showing it, because guess what, southerners don't actually give a shit about hockey. |
