I, as well as most/all of you, have loved this kid ever since game 1 of the regular season(or prior).. Currently, after the 1st 7 games of his career, he's averaging 20 min a game, has 2 goals, 3 assists, 5 points(leads D-men) and is a plus 7(leads team)... We all know that his early huge success isn't due to Tallinder.. It's because he's the real deal.. For him to be 19 years old and have this much talent, poise, smarts, etc, I can't imagine what he'll be like for the next 12 years.. Let's hear the love you got for this kid..

To temper your excitement (and believe me, I may be the biggest fan he's got on these forums), playing with Tallinder has helped him out quite a bit. Tonight, especially so - Myers had some atrocious giveaways that Tallinder handled with care, possibly preventing goals.

The kid is a breath of fresh fucking air, don't get me wrong, but he's just that - a kid - and he's gonna take his time learning what's up.

Negative Nancy stuff aside, I FUCKING LOVE THIS KID! Speed, vision, skating, reach - he's got a ton of tools at his disposal. Just needs to add some bulk, bite, and smarts and he'll be A-OK!

All I know we have a future Norris Trophy winner on this team.

He is a early candidate for a Calder also and is the real deal. He is the best defender drafted in the 2008 class and he is proving it right now.

I'm so glad we took the gamble to draft him first and it is panning out right now.

I was skeptical. With all the accolades and praise directed at him after the Championship in Junior and the international success, I thought he might be a bit overrated. I heard more of the same during training camp and the preseason, though I couldn't actually watch any of the games (damn it).

But after game 1, I was impressed and hopefully optimistic. He has only continued to solidify that initial impression. Yes, he finally had some bad giveaways these past two games, but you know that'll get cleaned up with experience. Balance that against him already doing things most defensemen just don't do, and you've got a solid defenseman already with All-Star upside.

I mean, did you see him stickhandle through a Panther defender tonight? He almost got through for a clear break to the net. I've already seen little subtle moves in the corners and such with the puck on his stick that remind me of Teppo's poise and smarts. He's carried the puck up the ice numerous times already, reminding me of Brian Campbell. And his patience and shot selection from the point are impressive as well. I'll hop aboard the Myers bandwagon and not even look back. There's no way this kid goes back to Junior.

Regier had to travel all the way to Cambodia to get a stick big enough for Tyler..

Watch your words, Sky...you remember the incident last year with that fan in Columbus.

He said on a message board that he was going to kill Ovechkin or something and he got arrested or some crap like that.

Myers was giveaway free in the first 4-5. His rookie is starting to show a little bit... but I think that has to do with the opposing teams' scouting more than anything.

How many potatoes does it take to make a 6'8" statue? :D :D :D

On the serious side, I really like his work along the boards - when he and an opponent go after the puck, he gets it the vast majority of the time. I also am impressed with his skating and poise, like most of us.

I like the guy alot but I honestly think he will be sent back, unless some d-man like Tallinder is let go.

Is Regier sends him down, I'm going to send him a sackful of Clementines with angry faces drawn on them.

nope....not gonna happen (myers going down)...he is our best defensman...he's here to stay...

myers is the real deal...i love how lindy wants the defense to jump up in the play...we see it sometimes....but we see it all the time from tyler...and you can tell he's not just doing it b/c lindy wants them to....this kid is a natural at it, and is good at it....i've been thinking he is definitely going to be a norris trophy candidate sometime down the line....Heck ! if he keeps this up, we might be talking this year !!!

if he packs some weight on, and starts to become a physical defenseman...all i can say is that he will be scary good...

darcy better not wait till the last year of his contract to sign him....i want this kid signed to a 10 year deal before that....

i haven't been excited about a new sabres player since the sabres acquired Pat La Fontaine

Tyler Myers - Future captain of the Buffalo Sabres, and future Norris Trophy Winner

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

Darcy kinda has to wait until the last year of his deal to sign him to a 10 year deal anyways.

No way.. It's really hard to get a top 4 Defenseman in the NHL, let alone a top 2 D-man.. Everyone can see all of the little things(or big things-his size) that make him such a good player on defense and Offense.. What kind of message would it send to all of the players if we sent him down?

If Myers is sent back down, this team and the fan-base will "wilt", profoundly. It will hurt the team immeasurably, on the ice as well as at the box-office.
