Hi folks, sorry to have kept you waiting, but there was a lot going on in the last month. First the injury, then… But, no, that’s still a secret. You’ll get to know soon enough.

What I can tell you already is that I’m a proud owner of a AAA-team in Minnesota now. I’ve been working on this together with my friend Bernd Brückler since the summer and now the “ITR26ers” are finally up and running. Follow this link to get to the ITR26ers website!

We want to give kids from ages 7 to 18 the opportunity to play hockey outside the hockey-times at school. We proved first class coaches and I will be acting as a coach a few days every week in the summer holidays, too. So, why only outside the school-times? Well, in the US kids are only allowed to play hockey in their district or town during school. As soon as the hockey season at school is over the kids are free to choose any club they want and we’re ready to step in. That means approximately from the end of March until September.

Our aim is to have the kids practice at the Golden Gophers’ Mariucci Arena. In the first years we want to scout as many kids as we can, after that we want to be a great team with a shot at winning every AAA-tournament we participate in. That’s really important for the development of the youngsters. Also, there are always lots of scouts from the USHL and College watching those tournaments.

Personally, I’m feeling fine. Of course, I’m not really completely happy with my game right now. A few more goals would be better, but as long as we keep on winning it’s not that big of a disappointment. Leaving out last season I’ve always been a slow starter to a season. I already had a lot of chances, but I haven’t been able to put the puck in the net on a regular basis. It’s a good thing that I’ve become a veteran in the last years so that doesn’t bother me too much. I know that things’ll change, as long as I keep on putting in hard work in practice and every game.

He'll score tonight. Bank on it.

He bruised his ribs several weeks ago hitting Brad May and missed a couple games. He's fine now.

Truth.
Also think about the beating this dude takes in front of the net every night... That is not conducive to healing an injury like that at all.

Agreed, One of our recently retired defenseman, Numinnen, had a company that makes sticks.

It makes me laugh when people complain about athletes doing extra-carriculars. It's not like the dude is motorcycling without a helmet a la big ben for the steelers. Athletes are people too.

Urgency??

Like how he's leading the team in goals and and had plenty of scoring chances but the puck didn't bounce the right way?? You don't want him to put a lot of pressure on himself, especially when things aren't as bad as many of you guys make it out to be..

In a year where our highest paid, supposedly most potent offensive weapon is shooting blanks, i'd think/hope/expect that he'd be a bit too focused on improving his game to be taking on such a large endeavor. Look at his freaking post...his own hockey playing is a footnote, like..."oh, i'm totally sucking, but since i'm a veteran i'm not going to worry about it". Well, flippin fantastic for him, I guess once i've been working at my job a couple more years I can just float around, hardly doing my job, and everyone will be happy about it.
