very true. you honor your former captain.

pegula.... hes all talk. and while i like the youth weve acquired. i dont like everything else. jesus, we had a more tuned in ownership group when there was no ownership group.

you cant throw money at every problem. you cant pat a guy on the back and say "good try!" time after time. wheres the accountability? im just frustrated.

No, they didn't.

Hall of Fame players get recognition when they return to a place they played. That's it.

He didn't lead us to a Cup, no memorial for him.

Different situations.

You of course honor the best ever Sabre and first ever draft pick like that, but a guy who played solid for the team and just doing his job?

i have to disagree Mike. I dont see any point in doing a Pomminville tribute. He was a good player for the team but was by no means a "legendary" Sabre like Perrault and honestly, wearing the C for Buffalo over the last...3-4 years isnt much of an accomplishment with the rotating captains and all that bullshit. I mean, Roy was was a similar situation, does anyone really want a tribute to Roy? How about Martin Biron, he was with the team for just under a decade and was/still is a fan favorite. Does he deserve one too?

Here's the thing. You don't have to put a whole montage together for him. All they had to do was play a clip of his OT goal against Ottawa, and simply welcome him back to the arena. That's just good PR to a player that was in the organization for as long as he was.

We want to be hockey heaven. While we aren't that great of a team, there's other things the Sabres can do to be hockey heaven that don't have to do with the on-ice product.

I agree with Mike, it's so easy to make a quick nod to him in some lull of the game, it would have been a nice gesture that costs nothing. The absence of 'the least you can do' just sort of seems glaring in this case.
