Can somone explain what the difference between Ted Black's job and Lafontaine's job is?

I know right now Lafontaine is the interim GM, but once a GM is hired, Ted & Pat seems a bit redundant.

AFAIK Ted is president...so he'd be in charge of arena stuff, tickets, the store, PR, stuff like that.
LaFontaine is strictly hockey.
