Hopefully Staffords camp didn't get the interest they thought they would and decided on a 1 or 2 year term.....

I certainly don't want it to be more than 2 million, but Stafford has to look at the contracts on the rest of the team, and i'm sure he did. On another team, he might be worth 1.5 mil this year. On our team, considering contracts like Hecht and pommers, should probably be around 6. My guess is 2.5 each year for 2 years. With that, we barely fit under the cap, right? |

This has played out exactly how many of us expected it to. He had no choice really; as no one was going to risk throwing an offer sheet his way, and no one would give up too much for a player who has yet to put a season together to commensurate to his skill set. |

If this is entirely true, Howie, then we might be looking at a lower offer than expected purely because he just wants to play. |

I suspect he didn't come at a discounted price; but neither did he break the bank, in likelyhood. While he has yet to deliver as a player, he is still an asset. |
