Rookie Myers enjoying early ride

""I'm having a lot of fun," said Tyler Myers, the towering rookie rearguard with the Buffalo Sabres during a brief telephone conversation Thursday afternoon. "All the guys have been really good to me in helping me adjust, get over the bumps."

And Myers, who was born in Houston, Texas and raised in the Calgary suburb of De Winton, has been good to the Buffalo Sabres.

Three goals and five assists has him in the top five of both categories among rookie scoring leaders. A plus six. Plenty of hits and loads of ice time for the 6-foot-7, 211-pound member of last May's Memorial Cup runner-up Kelowna Rockets."

...kid's got a great attitude and a good sense of humor. Seems that folks in Western Canada still have a soft spot for him.

Good stuff.

Not too soft. Stay away from our fucking rookie sensation, Calgary. You can't have him. Not in three years... not ever.

Tyler Myers - Future captain of the Buffalo Sabres, and future Norris Trophy Winner

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

Connolly/Roy - 2 goals in the last 47 playoff games

Ha, I'm sure 'Hawks fans say the same thing about us in regards to Patrick Kane.

Oh no, Calgary. Get a good look. Get real acquainted with that mug of his, because in a couple of years, you're going to see that huge frame coming at you, plastering your face into the boards or hammering you right out of the crease. And Jesus save you if someone manages to unleash the beast within.

Well it's good when other teams take notice, it means he is doing something right.

Remember the WHL Finals last year phil. Calgary and Kelowna and Myers leads the way to a 4-1 series win over the favored Hitmen and winning the MVP. They saw enough of him last year to know that this kid was for real. Tonight just added more salt to the wound

No, I think it's pretty obvious. Someone obviously hacked into my account and posted pretending to be me. I don't forget to say Ham.

I remember that, but it was actually a 4-2 series win. You're right about who lead the way, though. With the Chynoweth Cup in his sight, Myers (along with Benn, who I think is going to be dynamite for Dallas) picked up that team and basically willed them to victory. I remember listening to Game Six and Prospera Place was SOOOOO LOUD.
