halfway through the article is the story on Brunnstrom.....

he's cheap, young, has good size, and put in 17 goals as a rookie last year....lots of potential there...

stars are looking for young defensemen....how about sekera ?

Manning the machine gun on the Tyler Myers Bandwagon - just in case any teams have an idea of prying him away from us (3 GM's shot already)

From the scouting report (Dreger) -

"Lacks consistency, especially in terms of his commitment to playing defense. Needs to shoot the puck more and keep his game simple."

Lots of teams (esp. Nashville and the Canucks, not to mention Dallas) are willing to jack the price-tag on him.

Do we really need to overpay for another budding Vanek?

Nyet. No mas.

I want fucking grit: Jamal Mayers, Dustin Byfuglien, Jason Blake...any wiley old, dirty veteran. No more fucking "pretty boys", please.

I don't care what he did, his rookie season - Once he signs, he'll turn into a Primo dogfucker.

Thanx.

The Stars outbid several teams for Brunnstrom. His salary is in the $2 million per range I believe - maybe someone can look up the actual number. If he's not cracking their lineup, he must be a real dog.

But then again Mach would have a mental orgasm if it happened.

I'd only swap Shakira for him if Brunnstroms contract is half of what I believe it is.....

This guy was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated by the media a couple years back and he is barely talked about now because people realized he sucks. I can see why no one drafted him at 18.

I like you're idea of a gritty player but Jason Blake? He's an overpaid bum, a plug, and a one season wonder. No thanks

I would very much like to see byfuglein in a Sabres jersey - wanted him since last year, It would only take about ten games for me to learn how to pronounce and spell his name as well as that kid in the commercial!

Maybe you're thinking of a different J. Blake, but he's averaged 57 points/season for the last 6 years. That would virtually be the top scorer on this team.

Personally, I wouldn't give up much for him because of his age though.

Also note, this guy has battled through A LOT to be where he is right now. Can't say that about too many Sabre forwards.

Blue and Yellow, you are far too immature

Ya, I'll pass on Mayers, even though he is a heart and soul guy, but this management kept Andrew Peters on FOR YEARS after trading LaFontaine for him. So, hey, maybe it's not so ridiculous??????? That blunder will go down in the 'ANALS' of hockey history.

:crying-yellow:

It's a message board. You don't have to be an emotionless stick the entire time. Judging someone as immature for saying HAHAHAHAHAHAHA is nuts.

Mayars is just another goon. He doesn't score at all.

Sorry, it just comes off as obnoxious and, well, immature. The fact that you can't spell his name doesn't help your case.

1: Typos happen
2: I didn't realize if you couldn't type Jamal Mayers correctly your immature?

Being immature is in your lane now. You want to start a little argument over nothing on a message board, count me out.
Anyways, I think the Sabres would do good with another Swede. Bring him in, I wont mind.

Just because Mayers is being ill-utilzed in Toronto, doesn't mean he's a goon - Unless you consider all 3rd-liners goons, by virtue of the fact that they're not "elite".

He's a right-handed player who has playoff experience, with the Blues - He's a heart and soul guy, in the mold of Mike Grier. He's a very tough player who stands up for his own, and a team-leader with a very sound work-ethic.

I put him in the same type of grouping as Nigel Dawes, Dominic Moore, Chris Drury, Dustin Byfuglien, Jason Blake, Milan Lucic...

I mean to say: He's a Hockey player's Hockey player. Great fundamentals, nothing fancy and a very hard worker. Leads by example.

Personally, I always make suggestions that would steer the Sabres' roster toward a Calgary-type paradigm. Well-rounded players, with a great degree of accountability; a tough, lunch-pail type of team. Top to bottom.

Team concept - No danglers.
