Just looking over Frolov and Browns information in LA. 1 or both in a trade? What would it take for either kind of deal? Would they be a good fit here in Buffalo? Thoughts on these 2 guys. |

I don't know....what it would take to get one/both might be too much. I'd take Brown over Frolov, but he has a horrific career +/- and we'd probably have to give them Roy + something else. |

I don't know that Brown will get dealt. There have been a lot of rumors that the Kings are shopping Frolov as he's having a tough season and he's an UFA-to-be. I'd love to see Brown in a Sabres uni. But, I doubt the Sabres will give up the type of package it would take to blow the Kings away to the point that they move him. He's a "core guy" for the Kings. |

Frolov is not as good as he should be, plus he gets scratched every now and again and Brown is LA captain so I say no to both. |

Frolov would be a pure offensive talent, and would probably require us to move Roy + Pick to get him People in Buffalo would hate him, because they hate pure offensive players. Vanek gets ragged on pretty badly, and he's not too bad both ways. Frolov would be ok for about 2 weeks, then people would be screaming about how much he sucks, because he's a "soft, floater" Brown would be good, but would require a package that included Roy, Stafford, Ennis, + 2 1st round picks to aquire, because of his amazing contract, and his physical presence mixed with his good hands. |

Frolov isn't worth that much. Roy+1st and a prospect is enough for Kovalchuk... |

Quote: Frolov isn't worth that much. Roy+1st and a prospect is enough for Kovalchuk... I agree completely... everyone underestimates our players because of our system. Max Afinogenov is a great comparison.

I'm not saying our offense is total crap, I'm saying a new addition would make us a Stanley Cup Contender. Agreed? |

It could very well completly change the dynamic of our offense and we could score a plethora of goals. But what if it does the oppisite an completly ruins the chemistry of the team, then what?

Second is nice; but we haven't won anything yet. Not advocating the trade proposal, just open to improving the team. I hate The Yankees; but after winning The World Series, they're still trying to improve. I respect that. To be a winner, you have to always strive to improve. |

BlueandYellow wrote: Frolov isn't worth that much. Roy+1st and a prospect is enough for Kovalchuk... Yes and No. Frolov is an underachieving UFA-to-be. Roy for Frolov is overpayment on the Sabres part, let alone Roy + a 1st rounder. Frolov + 1st Rounder for Roy........ And the Thrashers would laugh at Roy + 1st for Kovy. Atlanta will want a siiiiick package to move Kovalchuk along the lines of Butler, Ennis, Kassian, and a 1st. |

I'm sure adding a top 6 forward and a top 4 d-man would be great to have...as long as its cap friendly. |

Roy+1st and maybe Butler or something would be enough. |
