I like this guy, he's like a Vanek scoring garbage goals except he makes less. What could we give to get him? I was thinking this:

To Buffalo: Scott Hartnell 4.2

To Philadelphia: Drew Stafford 1.5
Nathan Gerbe .875
1st or 2nd round pick

Flake, borderline asshole, inflated contract. I wouldn't give Stafford or Gerbe straight up for him.

not for that contract no, but at least people are suggesting defensively responsible players now.

Well now, isn't this an anti-Stanley Cup opinion ;)
It isn't defensive that we need, either at the forward or the defensive positions. Its offensive talent we need. I don't like the option or opportunity on this basis alone.

I was just kidding about watchin hockey :P lol but I mean come on.... Giving up Stafford Gerbe and a Pick like you wanted originally was overboard by a lot... Stafford straight up maybe.... but still Hartnell is not the kinda player I would want here.

I would much rather target Byfuglien from Chicago, than the dude with "more hair than Cher"(RJ)

Now, Byfuglien is a player I think every team wants. He's a MASSIVE boy - and I mean MASSIVE, at 6'5" and 245 lbs (or more, I think) - and he has a skillset that seems ready to explode. I'd love to see him in blue and gold.

Personally, I wouldn't trade Stafford for Hartnell straight up.

Hartnell is exactly the kind of player this team needs. He's a typical power forward and I was amazed at the negativity towards him. Did he do something bad I cant remember. The guy is a hockey players hockey player and I would welcome him in the Blue and Gold, just not for staff gerbs and a pic. Either Staff and gerbe or Staff and boston's 3rd.

I would love him. Skating is a bit of an issue but he's proven that it won't affect him. What does it take to get him out. I'd say another big boy who hasn't even started his ELC would be what they want. Kassian and mid pick for Byfuglien.

PS I would LOVE to try and pry Rene Bourque out of Calgary. But they love him there. But they also have cap issues and he can get more on the market than Cal is willing to offer.

See, I love Hartnell as well...or at least, what he represents. Power forward, gets his nose dirty, etc etc. But he also takes dumb penalties and is a doucher. The ladies don't like him cuz he's all sorts of scummy looking.

And for the record, I have posted in other threads that we could really use Hartnell on this team. I'm just too damned lazy to find 'em.
