Ok now before I type any of this yes Eklund sourced it however one or two may be surprisingly accurate. Ok let's start Ray Whitney... The Sabres and Bruins are the leaders right now. Don't count out LA quite yet though. As Wallin being traded taught us, it is not uncommon for deals to get resurrected. Teemu Selanne... Pittsburgh or Buffalo. If he will go... and Saku Koivu could go as well. Martin Biron... I am told Biron will in all likelihood be moved post Olympics to Buffalo. Now as I said Biron does seem pretty accurate and surely the others above may not occur but if these are in fact being talked about what are your thoughts on guys like Whitney, Selanne and Koivu? Again simply stating this isn't set in stone by any means and the likely hood is very slim due to it being Eklund however Biron is pretty accurate and will be gladly accepted |

I don't hate Eklund, but I've had it happen time and time before where I've made a post considering trade rumors and replies i got were "it's eklund it's all bullshit" so I just state that so people know im aware of the unlikely hood |

koivu brings in some leadership and a decent center, as does selanne but i don't think it will happen as it does not help the future and i thought i read something about selanne wanting to retire as a duck. |

Thank you kind sir I really would love to see Biron come back to Buffalo, even Pre Olympics as you could give miller an extra day off this coming week. As for the rest I woul;dn't mind having Koivu in for experience and leadership. I'd even go on a limb and take Horton for next season |

Koivu - Yes Please. Biron - A given, considering the Lalime issues. Selanne - To Pitt. He would rather run with Crosby and the boys than up here. Whitney - Not a chance, considering a resigning is being demanded, can't blame a guy for one last run at glory. With all of this being said. Its more likely Biron is the sure bet, the rest are crap shoots, but wouldn't it be nice. |

Eklund also rumored that Carolina has already been offered a 1st and a good prospect for Whitney. I don't see Darcy paying that price. |

Wow, so Marty coming back has been upgraded to "a given" now? That'd be pretty damn cool, I'd love a Miller/Biron tandem like back in the day. |

the most likely option to pay out would be biron. the other players would cause to much of an impact for darcy pull the trigger. truth be told, Selanne on the Sabres is laughable. i just cant see that happening ever. |

None of those trades will happen. Whitney wants a long term extension and that doesn't fit Buffalo's future plans. Selanne and Koivu are key players on a playoff contender. Why would Anaheim trade them...especially for anybody on the Sabres' roster? Biron is a possibility during the summer. To acquire him now means trading Lalime (highly doubtful that anyone wants him for even a 6-7th rd pick) or eating his salary, which Buffalo will never do. |

There's no having fun on the Sabres junkie forums. This section is for serious commentary only. The sooner everybody understands this the sooner we can influence Darcy's personnel moves when he reads this, and the sooner we can all enjoy a Stanley Cup victory. Now everybody get to work on their best (and possible) trade proposals before Darcy stops reading. |
