Numbers according to CapGeek.com Pre trade salary cap numbers Buffalo PROJECTED FINAL $55,912,525 POTENTIAL BONUSES $905,000 CUSHIONED FINAL $55,007,525 CAP SPACE $1,804,728 BONUS-FREE CAP SPACE $1,804,728 Florida PROJECTED FINAL $54,086,985 POTENTIAL BONUSES $1,462,500 CUSHIONED FINAL $52,624,485 CAP SPACE $4,192,872 BONUS-FREE CAP SPACE $4,192,872 To Buffalo Nathan Horton Stephen Weiss 5th rd pick To Florida Drew Stafford Clarke MacArthur Toni Lydman 1st rd pick (consilation pick from the Paille to Boston trade or Buf's 3rd pick) Post trade salary cap numbers Buffalo PROJECTED FINAL $56,113,820 POTENTIAL BONUSES $905,000 CUSHIONED FINAL $55,208,820 CAP SPACE $1,591,180 BONUS-FREE CAP SPACE $1,603,433 Florida PROJECTED FINAL $53,885,690 POTENTIAL BONUSES $1,462,500 CUSHIONED FINAL $52,423,190 CAP SPACE $4,376,810 BONUS-FREE CAP SPACE $4,394,167 Another trade to land the D man Buff would be looking for can come in the form of Zidlicky from MIN. or Yandle from PHX. Would Florida part with Horton and Weiss? Yes, I believe they would. Would this package be enough? I don't know, what does your package look like to Florida and what players would you be looking to land? There are other possible trading partners, but I sure would like me some Horton and Weiss looks like he could use a change too. We need a Center, if not Weiss then maybe some Frolic? Who would replace MacArthur as a LW? Potential line up Vanek-Weiss/Roy-Horton Hecht-Connolly-Pominville Kennedy-Roy/Weiss-Grier Ellis-Gaustad-Kaleta (Press box-Mair) Rivet-Butler/Zidlicky/Yandle (disaster in the making? If this is where the change needs to occur, insert your choice) Myers-Tallinder Montador-Sekera (Press box-Paetsch) Thoughts on this? |

I'm not expecting Regier to make a move that big. That isn't his MO. |

I agree I don't expect Regier to make a move like that even though I would like to see Weiss and Horton or even Booth in a Sabres Uniform. Just don't think Regier is going to do much of anything. His trades in the last couple of years have been shit. |

i like the idea of getting horton....he's just the kind of player we could use....gritty, tough, a leader, and puts points up..... however, i would rather not trade lydman.....i would rather trade montador, butler, or shall i say..... Rivet ! Gasp !!! and i am all for putting sekera back in the line up full time....i think he will blossom offensively once given full time playing duties.....i just hope he can hold his own in the defensive zone.... |
