That's really complicated, and very unlikely. Malkin and Volchenkov will be WAY out of Buffalo's range. We need to sign a few d-men, whether that includes Tallinder/Lydman or not, that are top four quality. Up front I would consider trading for Patrick Sharp since he'll likely be on the market due to Chicago's cap situation. Marleau would be a very outside possibility if Grier has any pull, he'll sign for under market value, and Darcy can shed cap elsewhere. My best case scenario is trading for Sharp, trading away Stafford, and signing Seidenberg and Foster on defense to replace Tallinder and Lydman. That would add one mil to the cap, but Darcy should be able to make it work. |

Not to be insensitive to his plight, but Foster probably won't be the same after the death of his daughter. I wouldn't take the chance on him. Look at Curtis Brown and what happened to him. |
