I hope I spelled it right, I believe that I am too cool to spend an extra 4.5 seconds to check the spelling. This has probably been discussed to death, but I haven't seen anything so I figured I'd ask. I always thought he could skate as good as any player in the game but his hands couldn't keep up with his feet. Still, he had some very strong seasons with Buffalo and all of this talk about scoring depth makes me wonder if he's a good option. It's getting crowed up front with all of this fast young talent coming up and not enough roles to go around, so I doubt it now.

No.

oh, you don't wanna bring Fino back in Buffalo... not with how much Ruff hated him. He'd probably ruin the "system" Ruff installed, after the departure of the Kotalik, Afinogenov, Kalinins, etc.

It's not that Max's hands can't keep up with his feet. His brain can't keep up. In terms of "hockey smarts" Max is borderline retarded. I'd be rich if I had a dollar for every time he zigged right before crossing the blue line, thereby putting his 2 other linemates offside. He takes absolutely moronic penalties. As it turned out, Lindy pretty much had to bench him in his last year, because Max was mentally incapable of playing in our system.

If lindy didn't hate him, and Max wasn't dumb as a brick, YES.

Absolutely not. He is the antithesis of the system that is in place, and also the players who inhabit this system.

BagBoy has it 100% right - his hands and feet are coordinated just fine, but his brain is...shall we say, a bit touched.

it wont work. but i do love max, and i loved what he did in buffalo. as ive said many times, he worked hard every shift, and he always had a grin on his face. its just that he couldnt keep up with his talents.

again, i wish max well, and i enjoyed his time. but that time is in the past.

I just wanna take a second to think back and imagine what it could have been like if Maxim Afinogenov's brain was as fast as his hands and feet.

...

God. Damn.

OK, back to your regularly-scheduled LeBron mania.

At least Lebron went somewhere to win, and didnt bail to some shit city/team just to be the center of attention. I give him credit.

i never interacted with lebron when i worked for the pistons, but i saw him from afar interact with people. he was a solid dude. he really is. im happy for him, and he is very low key guy.

LeBron also does more charity work than probably any other player in the NBA. Dude's legit.

He's a solid dude...who told his hometown team and fans to go fuck themselves during an hour-long special on the most watched sports network in the world. It is inarguably, the douchiest, most classless, self-indulgent, arrogant bitch move in sports history...and maybe of all-time. OF ALL-TIME. /kanye

Afinogenov was my favorite player, but he tries to dangle too much... He needs to take it easy and play smart.

he wants to win, and miami gives him that chance. he took less money so he can win. he didnt want to leave cleveland, he feels bad, but he wants to play for the heat. players do that. its fine.

I disagree with anybody and everybody who is on LeBron's side in this matter and nothing will change my opinion.

I wonder if Afinogenov will slow down and take it easy when he gets older?

Probably not. But it would make him a good veteran. At say age 35 he can be a solid player.
