Ales Hemsky and Ryan Whitney. Hemsky - he was the best player on the Oilers before his injury. He had 22 points in 22 games, 7 goals (3 PP goals) and a plus 7 rating on a terrible EDM team. When fully healthy, scores about 20 goals per season (although hasn't played a full 82 game season since 2005-2006). Whitney - 6-foot-4 and 219 pounds, he's a very capable puck-moving defenceman who can log major minutes and he should get even better after fully healing from his foot surgery. Scores about 40 points a season and can be a big help on the PP. |

I'd assume he means this to be a trade idea, but he hasn't listed any information that would suggest as much (money going/money coming in, who he'd trade away, etc). Also, Hemsky can fuck off. |

Also, Hemsky can fuck off. Actually, I like Hemsky. Even if you don't like him, don't you think he's an improvement over Stafford? He could be the #1 RW weve been looking for. I say trade away Stafford, (because he's beloved over there by Edmonton) Butler/Sekera, and a 3rd? Hemsky's Cap Hit: 4.1 Stafford, Butler Cap Hit: 2.7 Stafford, Sekera Cap Hit: 2.9 We take 1.4 or 1.2 in cap space. Yes I know, Darcy "doesn't have the balls" and our "internal cap" or "bugdet", whatever its called, but I think its a good idea. |

Stafford's uncle got fired and he was Drew's only cheerleader. |

Stafford/Sekera/2nd round pick, Edmonton needs a top six forward like Stafford and one that won't get injured (or the chance of that) plus they need another D-man, plus a gem could turn up in the 2nd round pick. |

His uncle got fired by the team and he was the only guy pushing for them to get Stafford. I don't know what it is about Hemsky...I just don't like him. |

We would have relatively nothing to lose besides a relatively decent pick. Stafford = under-performing and needs a scenery change, Sekera = one D-man too many. The best thing that could come is that we get our true RW with experience and scoring ability. |

I know. I see his production and his talent, but something about him just pisses me off. Ya know what, fuck it. I have no reason to dislike him. Vanek-Roy-Hemsky. "Overpay" by sending both Stafford and Sekera. I'd do it. |

Whitney was an issue in the locker room with both the Pens & Ducks and that's why he's been bounced around. I'd pass. Hemsky is more of what the Sabres already have and not what they need. Now if you want to talk about landing a winger like Dustin Brown from the Kings..... |

That's not going to happen in a chance in hell. Well, it might happen but it would cost alot. We need a veteran forward, a pseudo former captain or something like that. |

Or I just have barely seen him play since he rarely plays vs the Sabres. |

Doan stays forever unless the Coyotes move to any city but Winnipeg, then all bets are off... |
