Good to know that their is talk from the GM's on possible trades and trade ideas with other GM's while they meet. No specific information on the Sabres, but I can imagine with Lydmans, Tallinders contracts coming due and maybe even some talk on forwards such as Mair, or Hecht (this should cheer ETC up) may have taken place. Hell, I can even see Darcy looking at the RW situation in Buf and maybe even discussing that 5 million dollar contract of Pommers to possibly make a move. Anyways, all speculation, but it was good to know that the GM's did have some talks amongst one another on possible trades, who knows, maybe Darcy surprises us this year. Nashville and Poile look like suitable "dance partners" - They have the cap. ...As to whether they would be interested in Hecht or Pommers...(?) |

Icehound, who on their roster looks like a viable candidate to help the Sabres? Also, if (I know, big if) a trade could be done, would picks be a better bet then talent? I am not familiar with Nashvilles talents first hand, I haven't seen them play except for the game against Buf. There is a name I hear some people mention from them, a d-man named Weber. Otherwise than him and Dumont I really am not familiar with the team. |

...I'd just go for the picks and squirrel them away - clear the cap, and prepare for the trade deadline. One can also use the picks as bargaining chips to acquire an asset from another team, while avoiding complex (three-way type) trades. ...Just my gut-instinct about it. |

I'd take Franson over sekera. of course there is weber. other than that their draft picks. maybe get enough chips to play with to take a legitimate shot at a guy like kabanov, or hall in this years draft. http://predators.nhl.com/club/roster.htm here is the list of their roster. |

Nashville has a lot of cap space because they have a tight budget. I don't see the Preds taking on a lot of salary since they have serious cash flow issues. |
