I disagree. I think we played pretty sloppy and took stupid penalties. The Flyers were giving it all and had over a dozen power plays but only one by a goal. The Sabres really did it to themselves. If they could refocus and play smarter in Buffalo then I think we will be in great shape.

I don't think that either. I think Philly played their game to perfection and we fell into what they wanted us to do.

This game comes down (whatever else you want to add) to us not burying our chances. We had 2 shorthanded and a few nice other chances...that went wide or didn't get a shot off.

IMO, its a crime that ANY shot was shot wide...Boucher is all about giving up juicy rebounds. Frankly either Connolly and Pominville need their vision checked, or I don't know what to do with how bad their shooting gets for stretches.

IMO, there's no reason Vanek can't mirror the top guy on the PK...and then maybe get a bounce to send him on fast break up ice.

But it will likely be Boucher in game 3. Coming off the bench, he can pull off enough to win...as he did, even though we didn't challenge him.

If he starts...we chase him.

I know it's hard in the playoffs, but you just have to try and keep things in perspective. I don't think anyone expected either team to sweep the series. If the Sabres play this stupid again then I will start to get pissed, because they can be so much better. They just need to come out really strong and smart on Monday on home ice and things should be alright. Fuck Philly.

How to win a playoff series:

- Win your home games
- Split on the road

They got their split coming home. Philly won't get 10 power plays every night.

Relax folks.

We have to remember that the Flyers were 1-10 on the PP, including two 5-3s and they had like 10 shots in their first 8 PP.

I mean why did Hartnell go after Gaustad? He had to know he was going to get pounded...and he did, but Gaustad's gonna take him up on it and Gaustad (our best PKer) is in the box.

Connolly, I thought was very good on the penalty kill. (Yes, I know he sucked on the PP...)

They got quite a few last night, and tonight a total of 24 penalties were handed out.

A little down on the coaching and Ryan. Glad we got one in Philly, but if we didn't play like clowns today, we'd be up 2-0. Thomas Vanek was great, but neutralized by all the stupidity. Is the only solution for Suckera to make him a winger?? Where's my Boyes? I'd say Needs is outplaying him. Connolly and Pommers mad their contributions on PK. Ashamed that Grags is our PP specialist(seriously, at least Cam Fowler has played a season on the PP, before becoming the live/die of his playoff teams hopes). I love Grags back there, but wrong place, wrong time for sure. Jordan Leo must return.

..and a special shout out to Mike Weber's skull for the best save of the game.

This just boils down to penalties plain and simple. Whether we're talking about the blatant ones that were called or the weak ones, you aren't gonna win many games when you spend half the game in the box. Shake it off, keep growing your playoff beards and we'll regroup on Monday.

Ever shot a hockey puck before? Even better, ever shot a puck with people in front of you?

Your shot is never perfect and they go wide. It's a part of hockey.

Wish we went up 2-0 in the series, but I'll take the split. I have a good feeling about heading home for these next 2 games.

all we just have to play .500 hockey the rest of the series after winning game 1, and we'll win the series. Buffalo still in good shape, especially for hostile that building was. Now they have to come here, and deal with adversity. If they could only beat Buffalo by one goal; getting 10 Power Play chances, and having their building rocking; how are they going to respond when they come into our place, and our crowd shakes them to the core...I think we'll be just fine.

Professionals should know how to hit the net without missing 90% of the time.

And if there are people in front of you, and you take a shot, then your shot selection is poor.
