The Buffalo Sabres (4-0) look to extend their league-best preseason undefeated streak to five games today when they travel to Columbus to face the Blue Jackets (2-1-1) in a 5 p.m. start at Nationwide Arena. (Radio only-WGR550)
This is the third game in three nights for the Sabres who held off Toronto 3-2 last night at First Niagara Center to complete a home-and-home sweep of their neighbors to the north. All three Sabres goals were scored on the power play. Luke Adam had a goal and an assist in the win, and Christian Ehrhoff scored once to collect a point for the third game in a row. Jhonas Enroth turned away 19 of 21 shots to earn his third victory of the preseason.
The Sabres come into today’s game looking to win five straight to start the preseason for the first time since 2000 when they won seven in a row before finishing 7-0-1.
Buffalo’s penalty killing is at 91.7% through four games, having killed off 11 of 12 opposition power plays.
The Sabres and Blue Jackets will meet twice this regular season: Thursday, October 27 in Buffalo; and Friday, November 25 at Columbus.
Buffalo’s next game is in Washington on Friday when they will face the Capitals in a 7 p.m. start. The Sabres will conclude their seven-game exhibition schedule in Mannheim, Germany, on Tuesday, October 4 against Adler Mannheim of the German Elite League.

The Sabres who aren't flying to Columbus this afternoon for the game against the Blue Jackets have gathered for a workout in Amherst. It's a light turnout of 10 skaters and one goalie.
Practicing for Buffalo is forwards Paul Gaustad, Cody McCormick, Brad Boyes, Thomas Vanek, Nathan Gerbe and Patrick Kaleta; defensemen Christian Ehrhoff, Brayden McNabb, T.J. Brennan and Jordan Leopold; and goalie Jhonas Enroth.
That leaves players such as Ryan Miller, Ville Leino and Robyn Regehr set to face Columbus.

I've checked around, looks like the feed on the Jackets site is the only one out there. A little choppy, but better than nothing!
Just got in from hockey, showered/grabbed a beer and I see we're down 1-0. In 5 games today, I scored 9 goals. I'll gladly spot our boys a few just to get back into this one.

Nah, we're just getting back into it for the fall so we played games to 6 (goals) or win by two. After we're into full swing for the fall we'll go back to timed games. Over the course of 4 hours though, some of these games were frickin long and draining. Especially where we were short on D. Last game was going back and forth so much we decided to cap it at the first team to 10 and luck would have it, we lost.
The boys nominated me for the Jay McKee award today. I’m sporting the badges (welts) to prove worthy of such honor

lol, Trust me XC, I needed a beer the minute I got in the door. Nothing is better than an ice cold beer after a hard day of hockey. I think I inhaled that first one before hitting the shower!
Ah, we're not going to win every game. We were missing a lot of guys tonight as well. Absolutely loved the Myers' back hander! 3 games in 3 nights is a pretty lofty standard. Besides, I'll wait to really pass judgment until the games really count
