So okay, the only way a puck can not be kicked into the net, is if they literally use a soccer ball and not a puck at all.

The rule is a distinct kicking motion, it can deflect off a skate if it's not a distinct kicking motion, he was trying to stop it deflected in. Good Goal.

The Alfredsson goal in the 07 Stanley Cup Playoffs was a distinct kicking motion but still called a goal.

I'm just tired of the NHL and NFL having these hedge your bets type calls and refs. Either make the call or don't....if you can't see something then let it play. If you do, why wiat for Brady or Crosby to start bitching to pull out the hanky or put up the arm?

I know what the rule is. He threw both feet at the puck, changed his angle of attack when trying to stop. You can't get more kicking motion than that.

BTW...Briere 1 goal 2 assists. I wish we still had him and his #1 Centeredness on this roster. How many places in the standing would we be up from where we are now if Briere was still a Sabre.
