I still don't get why they just didn't close the two streets that run parallel north-to-south and use that land to make a bigger arena in the first place. Winnipeg has closed streets to build other things in the past, so it wouldn't have been unheard of



That would have easily made it a 17,000 to 18,000 seat facility. Hell, even closing one street probably would have done it.

why an allseater arena? can't nhl fans stand during a game like it used in europe? 25 thousands in a combined seats-standing areas arena
