It wasn't the loss of Vanek that lost the game, it was gaining Tim Connolly over Hecht.

We got the lead back and the team was still flat...

Boston owned center ice because without Hecht we're pretty weak up the middle.

We lost Vanek and the game, I know you might not agree but I don't see us winning the series without him. He was playing really well. First Hecht, now (maybe) Vanek, not good.
