I think the biggest lesson the Sabres have learned so far this season, is that if you need the puck to win a Cup. The Hawks use the puck, they control it, they support it, and they protect it.
Miller: He got schooled twice by Hossa, I think he would love to have another crack at the 4th goal, that's one he makes look routine when he's sharp. Even still, the turnovers...too many...
Connolly: I'm really not liking this dude, take the second period for example. Forgot the puck just inside the blue line, botched 2 neutral zone passes (the kind of passes that skilled passers usually make), and he doesn't hustle. There's no snarl to his game (I hate that expression). So basically, we got a skilled guy who thinks that he's too fucking important to play with intensity in all 3 zones every shift. Who in reality, isn't as skilled as he thinks he is. If you're not interested in putting up points, at least get in somebody's face once a week, don't just dust off the welcome mat for the opposition. Sorry, I know you guys are probably used to seeing these kinds of performances, I'm not. Players like Crosby and Malkin don't phone it in, and they are driven. It's not that they are so much more skilled then a Connolly, it's that they work their asses off to be the best.
Grier: I thought he played a really strong game, too bad he didn't get more on that shot though. I really like the way he takes care of his own zone.
Hecht: He played a heck of a game, my only critique is that he don't drive the net one on one enough. I say take it to the hizzle, use that frame to draw some penalties in the slot area!
I missed the first 10m of the game, go figure.
The power play lost this game. Not only did they fail to score, but they couldn't generate any momentum from attacking!
