Too bad he can't seem to play a full game without Briere and Drury on the team. If the Sabres loose by one, the loss is on him due to one of this patented boneheaded giveaway in his own end.

Pommers probably feels like a fucking boss getting 5 min for fighting though.

Yes, that was a dumb move and he should know better but saying he was only good with Briere and Drury is a little lopsided. He is the best forward on this team right now

Its b/c Pittsburgh is one of the cheapest teams in the league...have been for a long time. They get the "Crosby" benefit of the doubt. I mean Brooks Orpik and Matt Cooke on on that roster...talk about cheap and dirty. How cheap and dirty? Cheaper and dirtier than a Bangkok hooker at 2am.

When Briere and Drury were on this team, those bad gaffs didn't hurt nearly as much as they do since they were let go. Everyone thought that it was Roy's time to shine and well, he never really became that player. He is what he is..a talent player who doesn't use his brain for stretches of every game he plays in.

The fact he's wearing the A is a joke I would never take him seriously as he had years to take the A or the C....but the Sabres had to go outside the organization to find their captain at least 2 times since Drury and Briere when FA.

Funny, I don't see a player who costs you games as our best forward. If Roy is our best forward, then we know what the problem is...we have crap up front.

The points he ends up with at the end of the year make the $4M somewhat of a bargain, but the mistakes and compounded mistakes he makes just aren't acceptable.

Given that I've never seen Ruff ever give him an earful after such a boneheaded move, I think Lindy knows that he is what he is...a guy who can be and 80 point player with support, but a player who's never gonna put his whole game together.

But our best forward should win an offensive zone faceoff to start the 5-3 PP. Roy effs up just about every PP he's on the ice for...I mean he's already got his Superman cape on trying to skate past 3 penguins on 1 PP...he was lucky to get a half decent pass before the Pens took the puck and went the other way on an odd man rush. Lazy, Lazy plays...that's Derek Roy. Sure he'll get tallys and helpers...but the lazy plays will kill you and they happen at the absolute worst times.

Also, Vanek has 9 goals in the last 13 games. He's our best forward.

...wut? Roy backchecks like a demon now and it took Lindy Ruff breaking his spirit as a floaty scorer to make it happen. Take off the glasses, man.

Ok, who was the best forward for first 16 games and has the most points (Roy is averaging just about a point a game)???? I'm not saying Derek is a great forward but he is one of the best we have.

I've already seen one lazy backcheck tonight that lead to a scoring opportunity. It's not the 10 that he does well, its the 1 he takes off and it leading to a scoring chance or a goal that's the important one.

Roy's going into his 7th year as a Sabre and he's never been able to shake the lazy plays from his game. The lazy pass, the lazy skate into the zone and the less frequently occurring backcheck.

I think he thinks he's Pavel Datysuk out there at times, especially when he tries to skate the puck into the zone on the PP past 3 Penguins. Hey Derek do the math...if there's 3 penguins clogging the middle just waiting for you to come down the middle...maybe someone's open. He costs us 30 to 40 seconds per powerplay on the majority of our man advantages because he thinks he's better than he is.

Letang should get a misconduct for that. He threw two punches on two different players after the whistle

So Fleury punches Roy - one minor - and then Letang did - another minor - but they only call the one? Go figure. Fucking refs in Pittsburgh's pocket.
