You can press him against the boards, or use your stick, or hit him on clean ice. You don't cross check his face into the boards.

well, if he wants to play the puck along the boards, then he needs to get closer, and put his hand on the boards, not just stay the perfect distance away that when ya shove him his face hits the glass. His own damn fault.
