Here's your GDT since Yhoshi hasn't bothered yet.

Weekend game in Montreal? The Sabres are down 0-2 before even getting off the plane.

<Insert additional witty game analysis here.>

Courtesy of the Montréal Canadiens:

Habs return home after successful trip

"Season Series: This is the fourth meetings between the Northeast Division rivals. Buffalo is 2-0-1 against the Canadiens and most recently earned a 4-3 win at the Bell Centre on Dec. 14.

Big Story: Friday marked the official beginning of Ryan Miller's march to Vancouver. The Sabres' No. 1 goaltender has all but locked up the No. 1 job for Team USA at the Olympics and was named to the U.S. roster on Friday, along with Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings and Tim Thomas of the Boston Bruins.

Team Scope:

Sabres: Buffalo opened 2010 in dramatic fashion with a 4-3 overtime win against the Atlanta Thrashers at HSBC Arena on Friday night. Derek Roy notched the game-winner in the final minute of the extra session. The victory increased Buffalo's lead in the Northeast to five points after Boston had briefly trimmed it to three with a wild win at the 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic.

"Anytime you get points in this League, you're happy, but we're not satisfied," Miller said. "I think we have to be a lot better to truly call ourselves a team that wants to contend."

Canadiens: This is Montreal's first game of 2010 after Jacques Martin's team closed out 2009 with back-to-back victories. After earning a 2-1 overtime win at Tampa Bay on Wednesday night, the Habs that followed that up with a 5-4 victory at Florida on Thursday to conclude a seven-game road trip that saw the Canadiens win six times. Sunday marks Montreal's first game on home ice since Dec. 17.

"We finished the year on a good note and now we have to keep it going," said defenseman Andrei Markov, who had three assists against the Panthers.

Who's Hot: Buffalo forward Adam Mair had his first-two point game on Friday since Dec. 22, 2008 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. … Markov has a seven-game points streak for the Habs and racked up 3 goals and 7 assists during that span.

Injury Report: Sabres forward Patrick Kaleta (leg) is day-to-day, while Nathan Gerbe (groin) is on a conditioning stint with Portland in the American Hockey League. … Habs right wing Andrei Kostitsyn is questionable after leaving Thursday's game with a lower-body injury. His brother, Sergei, was a last-minute scratch in Florida with a lower-body injury. Paul Mara (wrist) is day-to-day.

Stat Pack: Buffalo has been outshot 62-20 in the first period of its last five games and 39-7 in its last three contests on home ice."

Seriously. I hope the Sabres haven't forgotten about Scottie's transgression - I still remember...payback's a bitch.

Let's hope they still play "Olde Tyme Hockey".

The Habs' goaltending is in shambles. Please, Dear Grier, let's not make them look like geniuses...

Another monkey needs to be gone.

At least you aren't working for the Sabres - one day, Scott fucking Miner actually had "Griere" on the page after a game!

Mr. Schony always pronounces his name Gri-ere and receives a thwack to the skull every time. You think he'd learn or maybe he likes getting thwacked

Are we going to see another penalty with 2 minutes left just for having the lead? I'm not sure if that was it exactly (last time) but it sure was funny.

Oh.. the time clock won't run right either.

In the past, they used to do HORRIBLY. That being said, this has been the year of casting off of monkeys from backs, so...here's hoping the trend continues.

Montreal Rules: Penalize the visiting team until the home team has a lead, then give meaningless make-up penalties until it's even on the stats sheet.

If the visiting team isn't enjoying a decisive lead, with five or so minutes left in the contest - Call everything possible on the visiting team. Going so far as to having a six-on-three, once the goalie is pulled.

:D :D :D

1 - Buffalo will not get a fair shake in Montreal twice in a row.

2 - Montreal is playing very well right now, in part to Markov's return.

3 - Montreal just won 6 of 7 on the road and returning home to a happy crowd.

4 - I doubt Buffalo will come to play early yet, and the special teams will kill them.

5 - Deserved or not, they'll be lucky to get a point.

I'd much rather them get two points then lose trying to go after Gomez anyways.

A win will feel much better to me than revenge. I want to see them not go down 3-0 and have to come back and win once again.
