GDT - 1/29/10: Sabres vs Bruins, HSBC Arena, 7:30pm
VS
Since Monty couldn't get it up in a timely fashion...
Hard to believe that if the season ended today Boston would miss the payoffs, but as it stands they currently are 11th in the Eastern Conference standings. They get Savard back tonight, without whom they went a dismal 1-6-1 over eight games, and are hoping that's the spark they needed to get off the schneid.
The Sabres, meanwhile, got back on track at home against the Devils following a tough West Coast road trip where they dropped the last four. Connolly saw his 16 game point streak snapped in that contest, but a new streak has started for Adam Mair, who's scored in 2 straight since becoming the final Sabre in the lineup to record a goal this season.
It should be fun to watch the matchup of Myers vs Chara tonight, and even more fun to have RJ back to call the game after almost a month off.

I was just thinking about that...I'd imagine we won't really know until gametime. Should be very interesting to see who plays and who sits.

Nordic Thunder is pretty much a lock to be back in, and I'm not sure they'll leave El Matador upstairs two games in a row.
Patches and Shakira played ok, but I think you bring the pissed off guys back in and see how they react.
My money's on Loods busting out Thor's Hammers on some poor Bruin tonight.

Never put money on Lindy's lineup...it will not end well. How do you think Crosscheck got into financial trouble and bankrupted my pub while I was on sabbatical in Tahiti?

Here's to hoping the Sabres get back on track tonight against the Bruins. I think we need a big win.

Schony and MsBeebe were just trying to help out while Cross was on his downward spiral.

You better have a talk with them. I dropped enough coin that your cut should have been substantial.

WTF? Kennedy benched for MacArthur???? Uhhh, bad call IMO. Kennedy has been great the past few games, and how can you keep the Butler/MacArthur minus bazillion in the lineup with so many better options available?

I think they're really hoping that sitting guys will make them effective. Considering MacArthur sat against the Devils, it's time to see if he can step up. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Lydman, Montador and MacArthur all have stellar games tonight?
And I wouldn't call Kennedy "great". He's been a feisty little energy guy, but our third and fourth lines are stacked enough as it is with solid energy guys. Grier, Kaleta, Gaustad, Mair, Ellis, Paetsch if needed, solid guys in the minors like Cowan and McCormick, etc. Kennedy has too much potential to be anything below a second line producer, and he isn't right now. But it's like the article says, it's really just a rotation issue.
