This is my first GDT folks, don’t toss too many tomatoes and cabbage Sabres @ Blue Jackets 02/06/2010. Live from Nationwide Arena at 7pm ET. Last 10: Buffalo 3-6-1; Columbus 5-5-0 Streaming links: http://atdhe.net/12951/watch-buffalo-sa ... ue-jackets http://www.justin.tv/theblanetwork (More to be added once made available) Coming off their last 3 games, the Sabres enter Nationwide Arena to take on the Blue Jackets in hopes of snapping the skid which has the team in a major funk. Some of the faithful (Myself included) are in hopes that a quick road trip is what the team needs to clear the air and get back to their winning ways before returning home to prepare to battle the Bruins on Tuesday night. Others in recent times have been pressing the panic button frantically (Justifiably so), sighting a lack of motivation, grit and heart for the teams 3 straight losses. The last time these teams met dating back to Nov. 14th, 2008; Columbus cleaned the ice with the Sabres by a score of 6-1 and will be looking to win their 2nd game under new head coach, Claude Noel. The Sabres on the other hand will attempt to do something they haven’t done since mid January. Win on the road. Nothing has been made official as of yet, but look for Patrick Lalime to spell off Ryan Miller tonight against the Blue Jackets who are starting to find new life since the departure of defensive minded coach, Ken Hitchcock. Who's Hot: Buffalo defenseman Andrej Sekera registered a goal and two assists Friday and has lit the lamp in consecutive games after having played only once since Dec. 27. … Nash has five goals and six assists in his last 10 games for Columbus. Injury Report: Patrick Kaleta missed the Sabres' game on Friday with a bruised foot. … The Blue Jackets placed Mike Commodore on injured reserve with a charley horse in his left leg, where he joins Rostislav Klesla (groin). Forwards Fredrik Modin (bruised foot) and Derek Dorsett (hand) are day-to-day. Some quotes from last nights post game interviews: "The first period scared me," Ruff said. "Late in the first period, we finally got a little bit of desperation and a little bit of energy in our game." "We're making mistakes in the last 10 minutes of games," right wing Mike Grier said. "It's something we've got to fix." "When you've got that lead in the third you should pretty much do whatever it takes," Lydman said. "The last little while we haven't been that sound defensively as we would like to be in that situation when we're either tied or within one goal. It takes a little extra." My personal take on this game…. As being one who continues to chant the word, “Believe”, I do believe this team can come together to pound these guys tongiht. We’ve seen the talent in them in the not so distant past so this is proof that we can skate with the best of them. Instead of ripping the players as we all have in these last 3 games though, it is at this point where I believe the attention needs to be directed towards the bench bosses and make them more accountable to lighting the fire under the players which need it. I do believe that a shake up needs to happen. I believe, the coaching staff needs to be given a shake, kick in the pants, smelling salts, slap in the face, whatever it will take to rally the troops to get this team back on track. IMO, the attention is on you now, Lindy & Co. Get it done. LETS GO BUFFALO!!! |

This is a game that could really force the hand of Regier on making a move, especially if we get humiliated in CBJ. That being said, I think this team got their asses chewed out last night, and will come out and preform like we did at the end of last year, and start of this year. |

Wow...this thread sucks. Just kidding. Well done. Anyways, about the game, I don't have a good feeling. Columbus is a much tougher team than we are. Rick Nash and RJ Umburger are going to embarrass us. We'll probably get shut out. |

Nice GDT. Thanks for catching it for CV. This game has me really nervous. Obviously, we've shit the bed in the final minutes for the last two games. The Leafs did the same thing in Jersey last and couldn't hold out for that last 60 seconds when NJ scored twice. I'll be watching the Leafs vs Ottawa again tonight as closely as I'll be watching the Sabres. I don't want to drop out of being the division leader Go Sabres. Get it together... PLEASE |

If last night, and the night before, and the night before weren't make our break games, this one is. Well, at least for my insanity. |

Is there some record for losing to the 2nd worst team in the east followed by losing to the 2nd worst team in the west on consecutive nights? The Sabres could lock that shit up...they've got the heart and drive to do it! |

Who wants to see Lalime get a shutout tonight? Can I get Hooah!? lol... No but seriously how awesome would it be for him to just stone the Jackets? Give miller a huge break, give lalime a chance to shine, if he does well tonight keep starting him so Miller can get enough rest before the Olympics! |

Come on Buffalo, win this game for the kittens, because every time they lose a game a kitten gets killed. |
