2010 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Quarter Final Series
Game 2: Boston Bruins at Buffalo Sabres

After a tight checking game 1 that had no lack of intensity or animosity, the Sabres and Bruins will go right back at it in game 2 in a Saturday afternoon matinee. The Sabres called upon all their strengths that got them to the playoffs for a hard faught 2-1 game 1 victory. Playing a quick, high tempo first period, having Miller be Miller in the 2nd period and answering his play with a goal, and then sealing it up in the third. They will have to stick to the same game plan if they want to go up 2-0 before the series resumes in Boston. All I can say is let's go get 'em boys!

Supposed to be 44 and rainy on Saturday. I was thinking of bringing Joshua with us to the PITP for a spell to get hot dogs and pop, after which we'd head off to the zoo. But since it's gonna be gnar, looks like I'll be skipping both of those for Mighty Taco and the Buffalo Mueseum of Science.

Damn, I was going to go play frisbee golf, but that is going to be difficult now. Thanks mother nature.

Why is Kaleta's beard full on game 1?. I thought he would be one of the ones to do the playoff beard...

PITP is probally going to suck then..(44 and rainy).
What I want to see is Stanley Cup game 7 while it is pouring at 9 at night and we score and it shows the crowd outside soaked, but still 10,000 in numbers. That would be AWESOME!!!!!

The state of affairs over at the WSOD has gotten so dire that Scott friggin' Miner himself posted the GDT for game one, and it only got six replies.

I can't believe that this is the second Sabres playoff game that isn't on tv (for folks outside of WNY). Once again I have to DVR it from the NHL network at 4am (I just watched the first game last night). I guess I understand why the NHL network doesn't show a game that would compete against the Versus game, but Versus isn't showing a game a 1pm.

Nothing points out the third tier status of the NHL more than the fact that all of their playoff games aren't televised.

On another note, I hope Lindy addressed the problem of the Sabres getting spanked in the faceoff circle. Yes, Boston was 3rd in the league in faceoff wins during the regular season, and we were 14th, but we have to stop giving up the puck so easily. They killed us in this department in the first game.

Well, I am off to school. I am giving 120 of my students a practice 3 hour AP European history exam this morning. Mean of me to make kids come in on a Saturday just for a practice exam, isn't it? Actually, it is voluntary, but almost all of my kids will be there. I will then need to read and grade 360 essays this weekend. Nothing but essays and hockey for me for the next two days.

I'm not liking Julian very much right now. Every one of his interviews ticks me off.
