I don't put a ton of stock in that whole having to travel the night before thing. I mean if you or I had to do it, it's one thing, but these guys are used to it. (NHL Players) They play 82 games in 180 days or something like that, and they are simply adjusted to traveling. The back to back thing does suck, but every team does it.
I mean, sure you'd expect Buffalo to be a little more rested, but I don't think it's as big of an advantage as everyone makes it out to be. Now if Buffalo hadn't played last night, and Nashville had played the night before, then there may be some type of advantage there, but either way, it's a minimal advantage at best.
I disagree, sure they are used to traveling, but they still have to do it, its not like the sabres who get to go straight home after the game to get some rest, these guys have to spend at least 2 hours before they are able to get situated in their hotels in buffalo. Even if you do it 41 times a year you lose that time to truly rest up for the next game. This is just my personal opinion, but I think that it does have an effect on the game today, even if it is 'minimal' its still an advantage in the sabres favor. But to your original point of wishing it was a 1 pm game, can you imagine busting your ass until about 10:30-11pm, then traveling that night to play a game at 1 pm the following day? Even for these guys that is a hell of a lot to ask, 13 hours between games, plus the fact that you have to travel and then get up for a morning skate before the game.
