The Buffalo Sabres open their preseason schedule tonight against the visiting Carolina Hurricanes. This is Buffalo’s first of seven preseason games after opening camp on Friday, Sept. 16 at First Niagara Center; it is their first of two home games during the 2011 preseason. This is also the first of five games in the next seven days for the Sabres, who travel to Montreal on Wednesday to face the Canadiens.

Newcomers Ville Leino and Robyn Regehr are expected to be in the Buffalo lineup tonight, along with youngsters Luke Adam, Zack Kassian and Marcus Foligno.

Buffalo and Carolina have played eight preseason games all-time… The Sabres are 3-4-1 in preseason contests against the Hurricanes/Whalers… The teams have split their two preseason games in Buffalo and the Sabres are 1-1-1 in Carolina/Hartford; the Sabres are 1-2-0 in three neutral site games.

These two teams have not met in the preseason since Sept. 27, 1997, when the Sabres dropped a 3-2 decision to the Hurricanes in Buffalo. The teams met twice during that preseason, tying their first game, 3-3, in Carolina on Sept. 18.

The Sabres will meet the Hurricanes in their first home game of the regular season on Friday, October 14 at First Niagara Center after returning from Europe for the 2011 NHL Premiere Series.

The Sabres are 134-146-48 all-time in the preseason… Buffalo is 21-10-2 in preseason action since the start of the 2005-06 season; they finished the 2010 preseason 4-2-0, going 2-0 at home.

Does anyone know if the stream on Sabres.com is restricted to USA/Canada? If so, does anybody know a proxy (site) that allows flash?

Anyone have an online feed for this game? We aren't getting it out here in Colorado and Direct TV hasn't started their pre-season Center Ice games coverage. Edit: nevermind

preseason is such a tease. Like playing the "just the tip" game but only getting that second to see how it feels. It's good but nowhere near as good as the real thing.

Finally it's Hockey time. Looking forward to seeing the Adam, Kassian, Foligno line tonight and to see how good TJ Brennan is looking. I think their is alot of good young players in Buffalo not getting much attention because their is no spots available. I always enjoy seeing the younger guys play to see which one's could possibly get a call up or make an impact later on down the road.

everytime I try, it just says "not available in your area." MSG will do fine, though...
