Bulletin: Pominville not at morning skate, more line shuffles

Captain Jason Pominville is not on the ice for the Sabres' morning skate today. Lindy Ruff said yesterday Pominville became ill Sunday, and Pominville left the ice early Monday.

Without Pominville, Ruff has shuffled his lines yet again. No way to tell if these will be what we see tonight against Edmonton, but they're rolling this way right now:

Vanek-Roy-Kassian
Boyes-Adam-Stafford
Gerbe-Hecht-McCormick
Kaleta-Gaustad-Ellis

Ville Leino is skating for the first time with the team in a red (non-contact) jersey. Tyler Myers is not here as he's undergoing another CT-scan on his wrist.

There is absolutely no reason why the Sabres lose tonight when Edmonton played last night. None. I really shouldn't feel this way but I'm kinda hoping that the sabres have another one of their half ass effort games tonight so that Pegula and Black have had enough and do something about this mess this team is in.

I dont know man, paperboys record is pretty shitty now. Maybe it's time to resurrect some other character.

I've wanted to see what Kassian could do with top line minutes since his call up but if Ruff really wanted to show off his Hail Mary throwing abilities, he should have stuck Adam between Van and BZK. In the rookie games back in Sept, Adam and Kassian played solid and we seen the chemistry early in the regular season between Van and Adam. I think it is obvious at this point in the game; try anything and hope for the best. Again, though, after being benched last game, I think we'll see Kassian come out hitting everything that isn't in a Blue & Gold jersey and chase after pucks like Hungry Hungry Hippo. For the love of Rico, I hope I’m right... Edit: Apparently Pommer was held out of the skate this morning for extra rest/precautionary measures and should be good for tonight.

I have absolutely zero hope that this will end in anything less then anger and disgust. We should all go in expecting the absolute worst. Makes it easier to cope with the reality that is this team.

Too many times we've seen teams come in here after playing the previous night, and show more energy than we do. Although there's no reason to believe this will change with any consistency; it would be nice if it changed for at least tonight.. Sabres win 4 - 3. Did Asian kid steal Sidney Crosby's "mustache?"

"Well we played hard gave our best out there. Some pucks just didn't bounce our way tonight. These will start to go our way SOON and this funk we have been in will be no longer. The god's are doing this to spite us. In absolutely no way is our play as of recently a direct result of upper management or the coaching staff."

God, I almost hope Pominpuss is sick if it's the only way we'll see Vanek-Kassian. I also think it could help jump start Roy in between them. Anyhow, let's hope this starts another unreal run like last year. Tbh, I like LR's lines for once, except Cody Mac on the 3rd line. Perhaps that's only because of the lack of options at winger?
