This was just announced, if anyone is in the market for a game worn alternate from this season.

The Buffalo Sabres today announced they will be holding an online auction for the first set of game-worn alternate (third) jerseys from the 2009-10 season. Each jersey will come with a certificate of authenticity.

The auction will begin at 5 p.m. on Monday, February 8 and conclude Monday, February 15 at 9 p.m. Fans can access the auction by logging onto www.sabres.com or the auction section of www.nhl.com. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Buffalo Sabres foundation.

I'd go for one of these if we didn't have so much coin sunk into our trip to Buffalo next month. I wouldn't care which one to purchase, just as long as it was game worn. A nice addition to add to my Peters game ready sweater. For $150, you can't go wrong. A nice preseason of this style with a no name on the back would still be decent.

I'm a little surprised though that they're auctioning off the 3rds again. They held them as their first auction this season, followed by the white slugs from last. From what I was told and led to believe, it should have been the blue slugs from last year/preseason this year up for grabs atm. Even still, I wouldn't mind snagging one of these as long as it was game worn.

Side note, did you guys check the size of Myers jersey!? 58+ You'd think the kid was big or something ;)

Update for anyone who gives a crap..

A bud of mine who runs a sports shop showed me the new RBK book for next season. Although we already knew this, the slug is absolutely dead as of the end of this season. For next year, nothing will be produced with the slug on it. The current 3rd will be the home but there were no pics for the road or 3rd sweaters. There were blank spaces for these though ;) So to confirm, we will have a new 3rd next year.

But yes, the Sabres logos ala Slug Era are gone. Even the "B" with sabre thru it. Gone. Everything is going to be 3rd/retro logo. Unless they come out with something post-print of this book. From what I seen, we'll be slug free at the end of this year.

I've always loved looking at goalie masks and trying to figure them out. I do like this one, but the slugs on the sides kind of look like bumble-bees :lol: j/k

Nice addition to someone's collection for sure.

What ever happened to T-bo when he left Buffalo anyway? He kind of just fell out of the picture...

Great news! I didn't need an excuse to buy yet another Sabres jersey, but it's nice to know I have one...

I have suspended all purchasing of game worn jerseys until the end of this season, to wait and see how this whole affiliation thingy shakes out. That, and I missed the end of the auction! I already have 3 Sabres game worn jersey, and 1 game issued. A crapload of Portland Pirates game worns as well.

Well, I have a Lalime game worn Sabres jersey(it was affordable, ok?) The irony being that he played 2 games in Portland this season. I also have Enroth & Mancari game worns, and a Game issued Tyler Bouck. I got the Bouck cause he was a good guy down here in the AHL and popular on the team, as well as the one transition player from the Anaheim Ducks affiliation to the Sabres affiliation. I had a bid on a Spacek jersey last year, but ended up losing it.

I would guess preseason, as it is from LAST year. It has #31 on it. I believe he wore #1 against the Bruins this year. I did find a photo of him in #31 in preseason Sept. 22, 2008. I got it directly from the Sabres, and it has a COA from the team.

yeah, I am having a hard time finding photos (and stats) from preseason last year.
