Is it tacky to get your name and number sewn on a sabres jersey? Im just curious cuz it was something that I was thinking about doing when the new uniforms come out. But Im not sure. I wont do it if its like... stupid or whatever I just thought it would maybe be nifty. I know there are certain rules when it comes to jerseys and I couldnt remember if your name and number was a no no or an ok... lol


Phil this is mainly directed at you since you know a lot about unis.

It's not that I know a lot about unis, but moreso that I know a lot about jersey fouls and sick jerseys.

It is generally looked down upon if you get your own name on a jersey, but people aren't gonna crucify you for it. What people WILL do is snap pictures of you and send them in to blogs where the author will rip you a goddamned new one. It's happened at Sick Jersey, Bro! and at Puck Daddy and on other blogs as well.

Proceed with your own name on your jersey at your own risk, John.

phils right. while its not "illegal" it is kind of frowned upon...like masterbating on an airplane

i have a couple jerseys that have WOZNIAK 00 on them. only once has someone made a comment about it. i was in montreal with my habs jersey on and someone said "Wozniak? i dont remember him playing for the canadians"

if your going to do it, just make sure you dont use a retired number as your own. you will catch shit for that.

I have one w/my name and #0 on it. Fuck it, if you want it, don't worry about what others think. I have never once had someone speak badly of it, at least to my face.
