Rob Ray referred to the 96 - 07 Jerseys as "The Goats." The team didn't like them. They dreaded the red thirds even more. He mentioned this on WGR 55 this week; so you can look it up.

Well he can suck it. I'll fight him wearing my red third.

(not really).

I love the read third, I love that it says Buffalo across the bottom. And I liked it when we wore black. Black is bad ass. We should go to the classic logo with a black jersey.

He did say "it looks good on Alex, however...." ;)

the sabres only changed from the blue and gold to the black and red because of a marketing ploy.

that being said. the logo on the reds was awesome. the buffalo on the bottom was kind of lame but the logo was cool.

The logo on the reds was weak. Something was missing; perhaps a Buffalo on the puck, I don't know.

The jersey itself wasn't too bad, I always felt.

Still, there is no substitution for the real one's.........

They should do blue/gold/black for our thirds once we get rid of the slugs.

While I do love the red third and everything about it, it says something that a beloved player called out the uniform system as a whole. This team really is all about the blue and gold and everyone agrees.

That being said, I still don't regret getting that Goathead Patty Lala for Melly :D

I DETEST the red thirds, particularly the goofy curvy kneckline.

When we went to black and red, which are so overused, I felt like I had kinda lost my team.

I know, I know, the unis should not define a team's identity . . . but I shall not be at peace until the slug is shriveled.

Anything other than the Blue and Gold, with the original logo (in some form), is blechy!

I had a hard time with the red thirds, the swashbuckler jersey. I didn't like the angry goathead at first, but it did grow on me, and I even own one, along with an original. The slug was the worst manifestation I have ever hoped to not see.

I liked the red jersey idea. I just didn't like the butterknives logo or the "Buffalo" on the bottom trim.

If they would have forgotten the "Buffalo" script and gone with the B with the sword through it logo or a re-done pieplate logo, it would have been nice.

Someone on the old web site did a mock up a while back of the Raging Buffalo Head in blue and gold that looked great.
